Let share Preparations/Timelines for 2015 Live In Caregiver PR/OWP Applications

Hi I just want to share..
I went for an appointment earlier with the immigration social worker and have her check my documents for OWP/PR. I'm supposed to do Option 1..but she suggested Option 2 which is much faster because my hours of work is in for 3900hrs.
So I did Option 2 instead.
She pointed out to me that: For applicants who didn't changed employer since they came here in Canada, Record of Employment is not necessary to submit..
If you didn't have overtime, you don't need to submit timesheets.
Live-in Caregiver is exempted for the OWP holder fee of $100.

Submitted my OWP/PR under Option 2 today. Praying for a good result. Will update....

1. Did you apply under new Child Care pathway despite of you were working all the time under live-in caregiver program ?
2. Can I apply for open work permit under new Child Care pathway (can I apply for OWP immediately once my PR application will be send or I have to wait till my recent work permit will be in the period of 3 months before expire) ?
3. Did you send PR application and OWP application in one envelop ?

to answer yours questions;
1. No I didn't. Since I didn't changed employer, I just counted my hours worked from the time I started my employment under live-in caregiver.
2. I have no idea about how the new child care pathway works but try looking at cic website and see if you qualify for the new pathway. If you are a live in caregiver, you should have 3900hours worked or 24 months before you apply for OWP&PR. If your work permit expires before you reach your 3900hours or 24months of employment, you should apply for extension of work permit 3 months before it expires.
According to the Immigration Social worker, make sure you have a valid(Not expired/renewed) work permit before you submit your OWP/PR application..
3. Yes, I enclosed my OWP/PR in one envelope and sent it to Vegreville,AB..

Just wanna ask where will I put the word "OPEN WORK PERMIT"? Is it on the document checklist (IMM 5556) or on the IMM 5710 form with the barcode?

Hello blue, same here. I didn't put thumbmark on my NBI. But there's nothing there that says thumbmark I guess.. I submitted mine last Oct.29.. Let's just pray it will turn out well, since we already sent it.

That's what I thought also because its should be electronic thumbmark that will be put there beside the QR code. I hope everything turn out fine...

hi blue 8) we have the same timeline. do you have dependents? i have 3 children my eldest is turning 16 and i am worried if PR will be approved after she will turn 18 and still age limit doesn't change by CIC . as new PM Trudeu platform will return the age limit to 21. God bless to our application.
