Legal while in process?

My finacee and I are getting married in February, he is legal in Canada until march(that's when his 6 months is up) so what happens after then? Is he able to stay while the paper work goes through?? Thanks in advance

What "paper work"? You need to be specific if you want advice.

Marrying you doesn't allow him to stay. He needs to actually maintain his status.

Considering it takes about one month to receive a wedding certificate (which is necessary to apply for sponsorship), he will need to extend his current visa if possible. Otherwise, he won't be legal in Canada.

I apologize, I was meaning the paperwork to sponsor him.....he came up on a wx-1 (business visitor visa) and was given 6 months to stay here...how does he go about maintaining his status? New to all of this...
