Hello all
I was in Canada with PR status i was 8 years old in 2009. I spent around 14 months in Canada and then after I left Canada. Now I m going to turn 20 in this October 2020.

My queries are :

1. I want to return back to Canada and continue my studies in a Canadian University in 2020. Can I apply for a PRTD ? since I was a minor when I left Canada. Is there any chance that I get a favourable response for the PRTD?
2. What is the certain age limit as a minor for PRTD application ?

1. Yes, you can try applying for a PRTD. It's difficult for us to guess your chances of being approved. IRCC seems to have become stricter with these situations lately.
2. Based on what we've seen on this forum, the sooner you apply the better. It's better to apply when you are still 17 / 18 / 19. Once you are 20 / 21, the approval rates seem to go down.

You should apply as soon as you can.

we have had two recent successes in getting prtd approved in such a scenario
first time it got approved in a week, 2nd one took a little longer -ard 5 weeks
if anyone needs any sort of advise in this regard, please ask for DM me

best to apply when your child turns 18 or about to turn 18.
pay special attention to question 19. this is where it all happens
good luck

Policy and practice related to Residency Obligation matters is still largely described in the Operational Manuals, ENF 23 and ENF 27 in particular, but ENF 4 and ENF 5 as well.

However, IRCC has also implemented a PDI (Program Delivery Instruction), perhaps as recent as early this month, which also addresses consideration of H&C factors in making RO compliance determinations.

see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/card/permanent-resident-determination.html

For H&C evaluations of PR removed as a child, in particular, the PDI frames the relevant questions this way:
-- If they left as a child, are they now returning to Canada at the earliest possible opportunity?
-- Are they now over 22 years of age and returning at the earliest opportunity since becoming 22 years of age?

Hi everyone,
My father had loose PR status against RO so he's been lost PR status. And your answer was that I can apply PRTD before the age of 20.and also there is one more query: If my father has lost his PR then is it any possibility that I will also have to face some problems regarding his matter and if I apply PRTD then what kind of supporting strong documents would be required ?
Please reply me as soon as possible.waiting for your reply.

Thank you.

Your father has lost his PR. He will have to apply for PR again if he wants to immigrate to Canada.

Hi sir, thank you for your reply.
I have checked the PRTD application form they had given the required documents so I am confused which documents will be required for the application. I have this documents which are given below:-
1.passport
2.expired PR card, health card, sin card
3. I have also attached my study report card of grade 6.
4. The confirmation letter of PR.

But My confusion is that:-
• To be considered humanitarian and compassionate grounds, enclose supporting documents that support your request that your permanent residence refer to the residency obligation section.

So will you please explain me how should be the H&C ground report or matter can help as a supporting document.

I would be thankful if you guide me by giving an suitable example.

Don’t know your exact situation but if you are using the reason that you were removed as a minor you have to explain that you had to to leave Canada because your parents left Canada and you couldn’t stay in Canada all alone since you were a minor. It does seem like you left Canada in 2010 before you father left Canada in 2015 so you have to explain your exact circumstances

If you are in Canada right now, then you should not apply for a PRTD. You should wait until you have lived in Canada for 730 days and only then apply to renew your PR cards.

Also, I am not a sir. Please don't assume everyone here is a man.
