If you know how to read you can see that I wrote 'Sydney is pretty quick in processing newer applications.' I never stated that Sydney is quick in processing the older applications like mine who have been stuck for the last 11 months!
I know how to read, thank you. Having said that, I also don't see Sydney processing new applications faster.

Sydney is a CIO ( Central Intake Office ). So it shouldn't be the primary processing office for most folks.
Some folks get assigned to RC8090( or something similar ) during background stage during Background processing/LPP state. This is Sydney and if assigned to this, your application is going to take a long time( 6-8 months for security clearance during BG ). Whether this 6-8 months is considered long is an individual take.

Otherwise usually only AOR is received from Sydney. This doesn't imply Sydney is your main processing office/ceremony office. Currently it seems the slowest is Scarborough office which is the primary office for folks applying from GTA.

Thank you for the clarification. And yes, I think most people who got their applications dragged out by "Sydney" are the ones assigned RC-8090 for BG and LPP. For context mine is over 8 months and still don't have completion with BG and LPP....

I'm currently torn between the options of applying for citizenship or relocating sooner. That's why I'm inquiring now to assess my possibilities. If it turns out I can relocate after applying in mid-2025, then I'm more inclined to wait. However, if it's not permissible to move after applying, I might consider relocating sooner. I'm gathering all the information to make an informed decision.

Thank you.
Sounds like your "work-related opportunity" is flexible. If so, and it can happen in a couple years, then wait. Otherwise, go for the relocation if it helps advance your career or allow you to earn more money. You will eventually get your citizenship but career opportunities are fleeting. That's how I look at it.

Good luck.
