Hi

I want to travel to England for 2 weeks to visit my family. Before it has seemed like its impossible to do as I never had any documentation however now since the Pilot project is live, I have a Open work permit for 2 years.

Would there really be any issues coming back into Canada now? Since I now have a valid Open Work Permit as well as my British Passport I cant see there being any issues. I will still have my PR application with me just in case any questions are asked (This new OWP is almost the exact same as the IEC work permits which also re-entry was allowed)

I know this has been talked about many times and most people have already told me that they themselves have been inside and out without any issues, I just would like to hear more peoples point of view on it.

Are you saying that your OWP doesn't say "Not valid for re-entry" (or similar)?

Everyone else's seems to have that written on it, but I guess you are the exception to the rule?

Every Single IEC VISA states that very same message, both of mine said that I never had any issues coming in and out. as well as the 100's of other people i know on that same visa. The message simply means that the OWP alone isnt enough to come into Canada... you also need a valid passport and visa if required.

So, once again...why are you asking? You of all people here know that NOBODY can guarantee your re-entry, so why are you still looking for opinions?!?! Does your head hurt from smacking it against a [virtual] wall, over and over and over?

While there are some here that doubt that you really have received your OWP, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just wish you well if you decide to go.

Why wouldn't people think that I have a OWP now, nearly everyone under the Pilot Project has there's now...

Dont bother answering if you dont have anything to say or give, this thread is just for people that are curious about it as its been brought up many times now on Facebook as we all have our OWP now....

I also have my OWP and I would love to see my family for at least a week or two, but I personally do not want to risk it.

I would think probably not since just LEAVING Canada while an Inland app is in progress is just dangerous. You'd be lucky that they didn't cancel your app if they found out.

anyone else been in and out of Canada on their new OWPs
James once and for all whether its OWP or IEC it makes no difference. As long as you meet the requirements for re-entry into Canada you will likely not have any issues. If you return with 500 Cuban cigars stuffed down your pants and half a kilo of coke in your luggage you might raise some eyebrows. If you have a valid work permit, valid passport, and pertain to all the import restrictions on booze and currency then I'm sure it will be plain sailing. I entered Canada with only 4 days left on my IEC visa a few years ago and apart from a surly CBSA agent I had no issues.

That is my point, then if it is so east I dont understand that almost everyone on here is so against it

My only guess is that they have not done it themselves and they are just listening to rumors that the 1 or 2 people have been caught and stopped and I am sure those people who have been stopped had a major issue anyway and they wasn't just returning to Canada normally.

On the Inland FB Group there are countess numbers of people who have left and re-entered without any issues, I was just asking on here if anyone has re-entered

Jamesdavid3, since your question is still not answered to your satisfaction, I think, if you try then you will know for sure from your own experience.

Aw, don't be such a poopie pants.

A person with a +5/-223 rating here really has no right to tell anyone how, or what to post. ;)
