thanks for this incredibly helpful stream..I was wondering if someone could provide more information about transferring the AINP to our home country? I received my nomination about a month ago, and am getting together my application to send to Buffalo, but am concerned about layoffs. If I am not present at Buffalo at the time of an interview, then a years worth of effort and my hopes for my future go up in smoke. It seems unfair!
Anyone have clear insight?
Thanks,

Interview is normally waived for PNP. Go ahead with your application to CIC Buffalo. You could notify CIC and AINP if you have to return to home country. They will take care of it. You wont waste any efforts that you already put in with AINP eventually every one gets through.

Thanks for the quick response, Joe! Thats a huge relief! Is it fairly certain that interviews are waived for the AINP? Have people experienced this?

Mississippi by state law doesn't issue clearance certificates to individuals. I once lived there for 7 months. Great. Like living there wasn't bad enough. Just kidding.

Yes inform AINP of the situation. Since you fall under old process which does not require you to be in status while the final decision is made they will continue processing towards nomination. Give your new address in home country. They will sent the nomination letter to your home country address and also sent the nomination certificate to Canadian Consulate over there for PR processing.

For those who are in danger of being laid off, can you talk to your employer and explain the situation. Maybe you can ask them for a couple extra months, or take a pay cut, or take a non paid leave, or something like that. I know this is crazy, but it doesn't hurt to try. You need to buy more time...just my two cents.

Hi Everyone,

I contacted my program officer last week through email and she told me that my new nomination package has been posted on April 17 to my address in India.

So everyone who have been nominated and are moving out need not worry.

Can anyone tell me how long it would take for nomination package to reach India??

As per website of canadapost, it should take 4-6 weeks for a package sent by surface mail.

I was wondering what mode they are using to sent nomination packages...

Albertagovernor, Can you please throw some light here.

thanks,

DZ

Hi Friends,

For those who applied before feb 19 and received nomination at mailing address but had to move out of USA before you could apply for CIC, (Imagine you applied for AINP and had to go back to home country and your nomination is received at your friend's address),THERE IS A GOOD NEWS.

CIC process can be continued from home country.

you need to send your original application package back to AINP and then they will issue a fresh package at your new mailing address in your home country. also they will send nomination certificate to canadian embassy in your home country.

Please copy n paste this where ever such questions were raised as we now have so many forums. Seniors please take care.

Source of Info: My own case( though yet to receive new package)

You got the nomination in Jan 2009 right. Then you moved to India and requested AINP to sent nomination papers to CIC New Delhi. So AINP took another two and a half months to sent the papers to New Delhi and your home address in India. Even though it is a bit longer this is good news for those folks who are planning to move to home country after loosing jobs.

Cuterash,
Can you please verify when did you receive this email. I am under the old process and honestly with the current economic situation, it is tough not to get the "layoff thoughts".
Also have you received your nomination yet?

Guys ....

I have it in writing now ... Following is the exact post of their email
===============

Good day;

The rules prior to Feb 19, are that a candidate is eligible as long as they meet the requirements at the time of application.

For applications after Feb 19, your will still need to meet the eligibility requirements at the time a final decision is made regarding nomination – meaning
Your H1-B visa needs to current and valid and you need to be legally working at the time of final decision by the AINP.
You are always required to notify the AINP of any changes of employment conditions or change of address if your situation changes following nomination by the AINP.

Any changes to your status or contact information can be emailed to us, please reference your name, address and birth date, and file reference number if you have one.

Hello guys
i applied before jan 2009 as pre assessment. but i sent my package to AINP in march 10, since i was out of the country.
I'm wondering if my case is categorized under the new process. no clue at all.
I try to call them, they didn't give me a clear answer.
Anyone has the same problem?

I would say you are in old process since you "first" applied before Feb 19.
But you know what, although rules are rules, in case of immigration, final rules are written in brain of the immigration officer who decides your case. Especially when there is no appeal process. So, nobody knows :-((
