Language test

Hi

I did my IELTS for immigration while my wife just got it with me so she did not do any language test.

She is very good at English and we are expecting baby in 6 months so I want her to be done with her language requirements before the baby because it will be difficult to get it done after/with baby.

I want to go with free or cheaper/convenient option. I know she can give IELTS but that costs and need preparation.

I have come across LINC. If she go for assessment to be placed on LINC, do they give you a certificate at that time which can be used for citizenship application? If yes then that is most easiest and free option for us to do.

If not, what are other options for her to do her English language requirement for citizenship?

CELPIP (L&S) is the only other cheaper option if you need that for citizenship only. I think LINC is something you can do only when you're a new immigrant and enrolled in one of those new immigrant assistance program. Since you are close to applying for citizenship, don't think you will be eligible for that. But it doesn't hurt to check that. But either way CELPIP , Listening and Speaking would solve the purpose.

I am new immigration - moved to Canada almost 12 months ago.

I am just preparing her now so she do not have to go through it with a baby when we do go to apply for citizenship

yeah she can do the LINC program and ensure she gets a certificate with level 4 as PASSED.
