Please give information can i submit my master of Science university transcript with letter from university that medium of education is English with my citizen ship application .
You can send the copy of your master's degree and/or transcripts. You need to also attach the medium of education letter preferably on university's letterhead.ar_fabrics said:Please give information can i submit my master of Science university transcript with letter from university that medium of education is English with my citizen ship application .

I was reading your previous posts. Why did you apply short of days means 1014 days. I think because of thet you got RQAcerAcer said:I submitted my private college degree and transcript which was issued in English not saying that the medium of instruction was English, accepted no problem... when I applied I didn't know about this forum and had no idea how much citizenship process is changed as compare to early and mid 2000's all of my friends got citizenship in 3 -5 months max back then so I applied without knowing even though if you are tax payer from past 13 years and supporting fraudster's livelihood through our taxes, being short of 80 days due to extensive travel could be an ugly thing and you could be scrutinized and wait years to explain your self to CJ.thecoolguysam said:I was reading your previous posts. I withdrew that App and already submit a new one now. I was willing to meet CJ but after changes and 4 in 6 years requirement also not knowing when CJ meeting will be arranged after test, since there is a chance CJ can deny me being 80 days short.
@ar_fabrics, all the best with your application. My wife has a B.Com from Karachi University, but we decided it might be better to write the CELPIP General - LS than to rely on a letter from the University (I give the citizenship officers the benefit of doubt, but realistically speaking, applicants from our country do experience additional scrutiny).ar_fabrics said:Thanks a lot friends.

Our reasoning was: the exam is only an hour long, is much cheaper than the IELTS or the full-blown CELPIP General, and with a reasonably good score (she scored a 10 in listening and an 8 in speaking) the chances of getting our file returned due to insufficient language evidence are significantly reduced.
As my education was in the States, I submitted original sealed transcripts and copies of my degrees.
Just sharing our experience/thought-process - your preference will be dictated by personal circumstances.
Specifically, neither the form nor the guide state that if you have a degree from the US, proof of English proficiency is not required. You still need to prove English proficiency.plus said:fdk:
I know a degree from the US speaks for itself but as we are applying for a cic (government) regulated process, everything is based on a checklist.
Where did you read that if you have a degree from the US, proof of english proficiency is not required?
Thanks

Here's my interpretation of the application form and instruction guide
a. CIT0002E under question 7A asks if you are submitting a "Diploma, certificate or transcript of a secondary or post-secondary education completed in English or French, in Canada or abroad" AND
b. the instruction guide under Step 1 (Gather documents) highlights the expectations under section 2.2:
- A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in Canada or abroad or
- A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation, in Canada or abroad
Program completion is key here (in my opinion). If you do a search on the forum (like I did), there are posts of folks who had degrees from the US/UK and even other countries and who had a wide variety of experiences with submitting copies of degrees/transcripts.
I have observed the general trend has been that those who submitted copies of their degrees (attestation not required), along with original sealed copies of transcripts which indicated that the program had been completed did not have their applications returned because of insufficient proof of language.
The same search showed that people had issues when they:
1. did not submit original sealed copies of transcripts AND/OR
2. the transcript did not indicate that the program had been completed
Until I get some feedback from CIC about my application, I am comfortable with my approach with submitting copies of my degrees AND sealed copies of my transcripts. I do have personal copies of my transcripts (opened and filed in my personal records), but I requested additional copies from my Universities which I included, unopened and with the registrar's seal still on them, with my application.
However, for my wife, we signed up for her CELPIP General LS test (18th October) on the 23rd of September, and received official results by the 3rd of November - the whole process took almost 6 weeks. The reasoning here was that her degree and transcripts did not explicitly state that her education was primarily in English, and getting a letter from the university while sitting in Canada was an unknown in terms of time and effort. It was easier (though at a cost) to write the exam here and meet the requirements with minimal fuss (especially if you are reasonably confident that you can meet or exceed the minimum requirement).
If you still have doubts about using your degree/transcripts, then I say sign up for the CELPIP General or General LS and put this issue behind you once and for all. Based on your post elsewhere in the forum, it appears that you will be applying in ~ 2 months, so you still have time to resolve this issue if you are not comfortable with the degree submission approach.
Hope this helps.
