language ability

Dears,

i have two questions regarding the language ability

1- English: i wrote in my application that i have High Proficiency in all (read, writing, speak and listen) i took IELTS exam and i got over all score 6 as (5.5 for reading , 6 for writing, 7 for speak and 5.5 listen)

my question is what proficiency equal in IELTS
High = in IELTS ( 6, 7)
Moderate = in IELTS ( 5, 5.5 or 6)
Basic = in IELTS ( 5, 5.5 or 6)



2-French: i wrote in my application that i have basic proficiency in all (read, writing, speak and listen) as i studied french in school for three years do i need to take any exam to prove my french ability ? if yes what and where? currently I'm in United Arab of Emirates
Just in case if i cant get score in french exam now how this will impact my application (no score will count or the application will cancel?)

IELTS is based on category scores not overall scores. i dont remember the bands but it is on the cic website and on this forum if you do a search.

If you don't get enough points for overall 67 after IELTS and french points, then they would probably decline you.

If you dont do TEF and claim points, and then they still want proof, i heard that they ask you to submit TEF and not decline you initially and they give you a time frame to do that. If you don't then you get declined.

with my current score i meet the 67 points without the French
if i consider that

7 = High Proficiency
6 and 5.5 = Moderate Proficiency

Do i still go take the French exam ??? ( as i wrot it on my application since 2 years now and i just studed it for 3 years in my school and i remmber NOTHING about it) ???

If you meet 67 points without french, i dont think you need to take it.

i dont know when it will came but i applied from KSA (trough UK office ) since 2 years now, do you have any idea how much it will take more ??
they start prossing my application in 1/07/2007
i just recievd letter from CIC since 6 months now just to confirm if im still intersting in immigartion or not
do you know after this stage how much time left ?

Maybe another 3 to 6 Months for Documents update!!!
From the look of things on trackitt.com, Jan07 to end of Feb07 have been asked to update their documents already. I guess the next 2 months will be for March07 to May07 and then ...........

You got only 10 pts of your score. I know it very well because I got the same score. I failed to meet the passing mark because of my IELTS which I lacked 2 pts. Can you imagine only .5 is lacking to reach 12 points!
