I too would be interested in this

1) how long does it take?
2) where do you go? Resident line or Visitor line? or somewhere else?

assuming there will be info in the paperwork you get back with you passport, but would be nice to know

You go to Canada Customs with no differentiation between visitors and residents, but I case you're wondering you are still a "visitor" UNTIL you complete landing procedures (so fill out the 'visitors' section on the customs declaration form/card that they give you on the plane.

For us in Toronto, it took only 10 minutes and 2 questions. Who sponsored you? Where will you live (is this the correct address)? Showing you the address they have on file for you. And then . . . "Welcome to Canada".
