So, when landing in Canada, what is the average wait time to get processed in terms of immigration?

I know most flights only have a 1 hour lay over, is that enough time? Especially since you have to get your bags and etc.

Hey, usualy if you have all the needed paper for immigration, it won't take more than 15 minute, but you have to take in consideration the time when you land and how many airplan is landing in the same time, usualy noon is the best time to land, but I guess 1 hour is little short.
Good luck

You need, passport with the one entry visa on it, COPR, list of goods accompagnying, list of goods to follow, a canadian address to where they are going to send the PR, and as a tip keep some pics with you in case ink come on the pic they have. If youhave money or cheque or something else, don't know what to do with...I didn't have much to declare concerning money...:)

It is the confirmation of permanent resident, it contains all the info that will be inside your PR card, it is several paper attached together, when landing the immigration will take her part and you will be given your copy TO BE SAVED IN A SAFE PLACE, you will need it later

NO!!! Especially if the "landing" will be done in Montreal. You need to have 3 to 4 hours between flights. Preferrably 4 hours.

Hey rjessome, I just spoke to my friend, he said it took his wife 30 minutes. But then again he landed in Calgary, which probably isn't as hectic as Toronto or Montreal.

Hey stealth,

I've brought several temporary foreign workers through Montreal and it's not just immigration you worry about. The "landing" part only takes 30 minutes or less once you get to the immigration officer but then it's the line up depending on how many planes have landed, picking up luggage and getting from the international terminal to the domestic terminal and checking in again and clearing security again. And what if the flight from Morocco is late? That happens A LOT with RAM. Montreal airport is big and busy. And they will take families first over people who are alone. I would not risk it. Ask any travel agent and they will tell you the same thing. I'm actually flying to meet my husband in Montreal because there isn't enough time between him landing and the last flight of the day to Vancouver to be sure he will make it. We will stay overnight in Montreal and then travel the next day to Vancouver.

just to let you know that I landed last week in Montreal and it was pretty quick even with 400 people on the plane I think they are working very hard because some people have other connection as well. They have lots of officers on site to accomodate the number of people arriving. The service is excellent. They are very nice and kind.
Good luck!!!

I landed in Vancouver on July 27th. It was around 5 pm on a monday afternoon, but there was no line with immigration, I didn't have to wait at all. There were two IOs working that day (though they had space for some 8 or 10), one was dealing with a family that was landing and the other was just waiting for me ;) I was done with immigration in 15 minutes, then continued to collect my bags and was out of there same time as all the other travelers because by the time my landing was done, the bags haven't been unloaded yet.
