Hi all, I have successfully completed my landing at Rainbow bridge with admin-refusal from US, Both US and Canada Officers were nice,
Nothing asked other than passport and CoPR , Got a signed copy of CoPR with stamps(stamp on passports also) and officer said
i will receiving the PR card in 4-8 weeks.

Thanks all for help and guidance ,

So Moral of my landing story is, "Peace Bridge - U turn" is risky, landing may not be guaranteed always, purely depend on officer on duty.
Congrats Dimma.. it is better to vo to US and come back.. i will land at Rainbow Bridge and take kids to play and have fun in Midwah..

Can you land by taking a Toronto-Niagara Falls, NY-Toronto train? Or is it better to just walk across the bridge to New York?
Yep, just walk - it's gonna be a lot faster )

Hi,
Faced the same issue here.
Drove down to Peace Bridge and reached around 1 am on 23rd Feb.
The immigration officer said that I literally need to exit Canada and enter once again.
I don't have a US Visa, so I didn't want to cross over, get rejected and have problems later with US Visa

The immigration officer also said that he was on duty on 19th Feb and he admitted people who did a U Turn.
So I think the rule changed from 20th or something.

He gave me a number to contact but when I called that number I ended up on the IVR which didn't even give me an option to find out how to resolve this problem.

Plus there's nothing mentioned on CIC website.

1. Actually CBSA is enforcing the law as it is written. To "land" you either have to leave Canada and be admitted to another country or be refused admission (ignoring "landing" at an inland office). So you have to get an administrative refusal at the US side and then return to Canada.

Upfront
Just walk on the bridge, take a step across the US border. And turn back. Make sure you have your phone recording your face and you within the US border.

Go back to canada and show the VO's the video as you land.

Not sure if this works. But this is technically correct.

Not technically correct, you were neither admitted or refused, which are the operative words in the Regulations.

He was kidding. It's just easier to add CBSA on Facebook and upload the photo with GPS information to an album. Share it with CBSA then, make sure you're tagged in the photo.

This is foolproof.

Our case is not yet finalized but just wondering, if this option is still valid or you cannot take uturn anymore. Believe a guy did that recently on this forum. May be one can call CIC and ask.

1. CBSA is finally following the Act. You can't U turn, you must go to the US side and get an administrative rejection before you return to Canada, to "land"
