I will b leaving to Canada soon, i might have a transit stop within Canada before my destination (Vancouver) .. I wanted to know whether the process of landing will be done @ the 1st point of transit or @ my last destination of the flight? & if it is to be done @ the 1st point, how long should i consider delaying my connecting flight?

It will be done whenever you touch Canadian Soil, so in your case, Vancouver. I've heard of it being up to 3-4 hours, it really depends on how busy it is.

1st I believe I would give yourself 3 hours

You would do your landing in toronto if your switching planes to board another one. You go through immigration.

But transit passengers don usually go through customs!

Well you will go through immigration with your declaration form and the rest of your papers.

Are you taking a bus from USA to Canada?

Yes i know i will go through it, my question is where should that happen? On my final destination (Vancouver) or on my in between stop (Toronto) & wt if my next plane wont give me enough time 2 finish the process?

It happens on your first stop which is toronto.

No sir, i'm flyin in from Egypt, thus the confusion i'm havin wz bookin my flight, cuz most airlines wd make stops in Canada prior 2 gettin me 2 Vancouver .. Most stops r barely enough 2 run between gates, so i wish i can do that process wn i reach Vancouver !!!

If I were you I would make sure when booking the ticket that you give yourself 3-4 hours from the time your first plane lands in toronto to the time you will board another aircraft for Vancouver.

Okay. Then you will be directed to immigration when you get off the plane in Toronto. I would have a 3 hour layover if you can. If it's less than that, you run the risk of missing your flight and having to pay for another one to Vancouver.

It depends with the airline, if you're airline is Air Canada from Egypt and you will disembark in Toronto going forward to Vancouver via Air Canada, there is no problem because the airline will juts consider your case as an exception with no extra cost if you miss your flight because of immigaration processing.

It did happen to us and the airline just arrange our next flight because we missed our flight.

Processing of papers wherever is your destination in Canada is where your first port of entry.

Cheers.
