Hi All,

Once i get my PPs back i decide to go and do the landing procedure in July 2010 and come back witht eh PR card. How long does it take to get the PR card and then i would join u guys in March 2011.

Is that fine or you think i should wind up now and come in May 2010 itself. I have a small kid and i feel over a years time he will be big and i can leave him with my parents in India till we settle down in canada. I still have 1 years visa left in UK so i want to utilise it and keep my job till all looks OK.

Need ur opionion.

Hi Rashida,
It takes around 3-4 weeks or less than that to get ur PR card.
Now its up to you as to how you wanna do your work.
Try to get a months leave and then wrap up ur work in canada and come back and then start looking for a job or its up to you as what u wanna do...
Best of luck for ur Canadian Life

LANDED..........
May-2010
Rashida,

1. The PRC takes around 4-6 weeks to return by regular post. Sometimes longer too. But, avg being 4 weeks.

2. About your plan to compete the 'record of landing' now & return to UK, then move log-stock-n-barrel later [after a yr] is purely a personal choice based on individual factual position.

Small Kid or a 1+ yr old actually wouldn't make any difference into your settlement process. If u plan to 'also' work alogwith your spouse, u'll have to keep the kid at a 'day care' centre/nanny/baby-sitter untill s/he is 4+, whereupon s/he can join the KG. Even then, what about the balance of time that s/he returns back from school & u r yet at job?

Secondly, if it were me I'd move NOW to canada, whatever the UK circumstance be. Why? In any case I have to 'build' my career form 'nearly' scratch at Canada, so why should I delay that? The more later I start that here, the more later [in age] I'd settle down in Canada & there would be many opportunities lost. UK would always remain my temp. platform, but Canada would be my abode, my future home. I wouldn't like to delay my settlement here, now that I've already waited so long on this PR process.

But yes, it depends on 'your' circumstances, which I'm not aware of. The thought process & requirements would be different than mine, albeit.

That's my opinion.

Regards,
Qorax.

Thanks qorax,

I certainly think you right, but since i am also studying here in UK i dont want to leave it and go there. But lets see inshallah what comes up. I recently joined a course sinc i had no clue when i woujld get my PPR and my visas were about to expire so i had to do to with no choice and pay my fees.

Since i have invested so much money here then why not take the Degree in the mean time after i have completed my landing process i would apply for jobs and if i am lucky and get a good offer then i would not mind leaving the UK.

All the best and have a safe journey, Keep us posted about ur landing experience there and how long it takes for the PR card to arrive..any probs u come across.
