Hi all,

Hopefully getting towards the end of my immigration journey at last but I was hoping someone would be able to clarify or alleviate concerns about something:

Our city of destination that will be printed on the COPR will be Ottawa, which was our intention way back in the beginning of 2020 when we applied; this has now changed and we’ll be moving to Toronto instead.

Now I know this isn’t an issue and neither is landing in a different location than the COD. That being said, we’ll initially stay with my partners’ family for a week or so and they are just outside of Ottawa however there are no direct flights from the UK to Ottawa rn; I was intending to fly to Montrel instead as it is significantly easier for them to drive to pick me up there than Toronto but how likely is it that I’ll face problems landing there because of the differences in immigrating to Quebec? I’ll be providing their mailing address in Ontario for my PR card and any other correspondence.

Thanks in advance!

Won't be a problem, lots of people land in Montreal to travel further to eastern parts of Ontario (or even other parts of country entirely). Just tell the truth if asked, that you're going immediately to Ontario.

Note, I'm not following at all how quarantine requirements affect landing in Montreal, but I think you can travel on to Ottawa by vehicle.

Thanks! Quarantine won’t be an issue as I’m fully vaccinated and thus exempt, in fact I visited just over a month ago and flew into Montreal then and there was no issue.
