Hello
Please, what are the best options to show proof of funds at the point of entry? I was advised bank statement does not count. And I don't want to travel with so much cash for security purposes.
P.s: coming from Nigeria

Hi experts, I was hoping to get some advice.

I will be landing in Canada this May, i will stay for a week to finish documents that needed to be processed, then go back to Manila to attend to an important event. I will go back to Canada right after, say a week or two to move permanently.
My question are:
Is it possible to travel outside Canada after a week of landing?
Will i break any residency requirements?
I understand that I need a PRTD to go back to Canada. Will i be able to get it even if I only stayed in Canada for a week after I land?

I hope you can shed me some light.

Thank you.

For the B4 goods follow form how are the following fields need to be filled:

1) . Country of Origin

2). Country of Export

If I'm currently living in the UAE and am originally from UK what should I put in these two fields.

Also should I sign the form beforehand or I need to sign it in front of the customs official.

Also for Jewellery is it mandatory to include pictures. The official requirements don't specify that for jewellery pictures are needed so would like to confirm.

Also do I need to check the additional list of goods other box in the middle of the form if I will be attaching several pages of listings?

Thank you all in advance for your time and help.

1) Sign anytime. Doesn't matter
2) This will help : Form B4 (Goods to Follow/Accompanying List): How to ???
3) Your research is not good. It's clearly mentioned how you can bring jewelry
Proof 1 : What you can bring
Proof 2 : Form B4 : Goods to Follow List &/or Goods Accompanying List
Proof 3 : LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

4) If there are any Goods to Follow List (Form BSF186A), you should then tick the box. (More Info)

Already Explained extensively. Don't use those generic bank statements. Make sure it's on official letterhead + stamped and get bank letter stating money can be transferred to Canada and there is no hold on money. Money should not have been transferred recently.

Eligibility - Proof of funds

Proof of funds requirements - Explained

It will not break any residency requirements.
You can always apply for PRTD from outside Canada, if your PR card is still under process.

Hi, bank statements are very much accepted provided it is endorsed/stamped by the bank on official paper. You can get more assistance and info for your Nigerian background at this thread, http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fsw-2014-applicants-from-nigeria-lets-network-t202722.24345.html

Thank you so much!!!

This is the most easy and detailed post pointing me towards all the right areas. Thank you once again.

If I may ask one last question that I'm still a bit unclear on. For the additional goods list check boxes in the middle there are three options:

1). Form BSF186A
2). Mover's Inventory
3). Other

If i'm going to attach additional excel lists with all the pictures and listing of items, do I check 1 or 3 please.

Thank you once again. I don't think I could have gotten a clearer answer on this forum than this.

Select Mover's Inventory and add as many excel sheets as you want.

Side Note : If you have any issues with the B4 Form or if you are not sure about something, leave it BLANK and CBSA officers will help you.

You're welcome Bro!

Hi All

My COPR states Toronto as my destination but ive decided to move to vancouver instead. Can this cause any issues on entering canada?

Secondly, at this stage I can only do short landing(staying in vancouver for 2 weeks) Has anyone done short landing recently?

Thanks

You can land at any destination except Quebec.

There is no 'official' term referred to as 'short landing'. However, you can stay for shorter period of time after landing, but your first PR card will take around 56 days to arrive. Without PR card, you won't be allowed to board commercial carriers upon re-entering Canada, unless you apply for PRTD ... OR ... re-enter via US border with your COPR

Thanks

Ill ask my relatives to bring my PR card later...I was just wondering if they create any issues at the time of leaving canada (if ur not carrying the PR card?

No, they won't ask.

PR card is only required by commercial carriers. If you have your own private jet, you don't need PR card. You can land with COPR

And during the process, if you are the sponsor, you must be living in Canada.
Thanks for your reply.
But i have a connfussion, suppose that i will travel to canada with my family after the birth of my baby, than how the new born will travel with me as you said that he will not have the PR. Can i get a temporary visa for the newborn?

Secondly, can i apply for the sponsorship for newborn while he/she will be living in canada with me.
