I will take CAD 10,000 cash. Isn't that enough ? I cant trasnfer money from my home account to overseas. My country wont allow it. In that case I can only show Bank Statement.

it is your choice on how much cash you bring. You can also bring it as a prepaid cash card.

Dear friends,

I am landing in Toronto next week. I have BMO account (opened in Toronto) with $14,000 balance in them.
I was working in Canada for over a year on work permit and now in California.

I need to show $18,260. I can carry a draft of USD$7000 from my local bank without having to go through declarations at US CBP and Canadian post.
Will an online bank statement from BMO act as Proof of Funds or i need to take certified statement?
Also, a draft in USD is also accepted by BMO. I hope it is accepted by Immigration Office as well.

I plan to stay for 1 week and return back.

Thanks in advance for your help!

IMO, 1.5 hours is tight. You'll need to emphasise to immigration the time of your connection flight.

Fortunately, Ottawa is not as crowded as other poes.

Good luck.

I'll be landing on August 9th with my Wife and 2 year old kid. I'm filling form E677 CROSS-BORDER CURRENCY OR MONETARY INSTRUMENTS REPORT — INDIVIDUAL. We just need to fill out one of this form for the family right? Or does my Wife fill one also? Assuming I'm carrying more than 10,000 CAD.

Thanks!

Don't bother to fill out the form by yourself. The cashier you meet at the airport would fill it out for you anyways.

I have got my PR and I am doing my First Landing in Toronto. Regarding the Proof of Funds, I suppose to carry 22,200 CAD. I am planning to take that amount as Demand Draft. Is it okay to carry the Demand Draft in other currency but equivalent to 22,200 CAD or the Demand Draft has to be in CAD only?

It can be in other currency but you have to account for current exchange rates. You are meant to only declare amount of 10,000 cash or more. If u have less cash and rest as instrument u are just fine. Most times they do not ask for it even but u can tell them .
