weather is cold but we have chinooks which make the weather warm even in winter...for eg today it is 6 C here but very cold in the east. Montreal is almost -15 ...

Safe place and good to raise a family

Vancouver is even more warmer than Calgary. But most people don't move further west from Calgary, I guess ;D

Seems that u r already living there,
So what about the jobs for doctors?
And schools for kids?

Yes I have been here for more than 1.5 yr and I moved from US. Schooling is good for kids. I am not sure about jobs for Drs but I am sure if you are coming outside of Canada you need to get license or certified...

Check my website if you need more info....

Well I have an extremely important question,
I will land in April by the will of god, but I can't stay there more than 2 weeks as my kids will not be finishing this school year
So, what about the pr cards, they said it takes 60 working days to receive it
So , can I give them the address of a friend in a different province,
And they send me the cards to my country, and do they ask about the cards while getting out of Canada?
Pleases advice as I can't stay there more than this

Thanks for the help

You can give them your friends address but if you mention them that it is your friends address, they will not accept that. You can ask your friend to later send it to your place but at your own risk....Some times there might be issues with the photo you provide and they will ask for it again...I had the issue for my wife and it took 6 months for me to get the PR card for her...

I did the same...I gave my friends address and they sent it to me...I stayed for a week...You dont need card to get out of canada but you need one for entering Canada. Hope it answers your question

Thanks

Hi, i will be landing in 1 week and still i am having a doubt on my POF... I am planning to bring a cash of 5k cad and rest of it i'll show them my bank statement from citibank (where my account is)

My questions are , are bank statements acceptable? Should i stick to demand drafts?

Thanks

Hi,

Usually bank statements of international brands - and similar from US / UK / ANZ banks r acceptable. Besides, I've known of at least two ppl who successfully 'landed' showing their Citibank statements w/out a hiccup. So, I believe u should be fine.

Hi,

1. W/out a CGA, CMA or CPA it'd be pretty tough to get into the same level of position in accounts as u r now. U may enter the field in a junior level (I've seen many get a 'job' in accounts dept.) but rising up will be nearly impossible w/out those quals.

2. As reg. Accounts Jobs in Calgary -- rest assured it'd be the same as in any other province. There r plenty of vacancies everywhere.

3. Staying in Calgary: Unfortunately I'm not aware of any temp. accoms. there for newcomers. Off course "motels" r galore & r a safe bet usually. I've noticed some threads on this forum specific to Calgary -- u may like to log-on there for this info.

All the best.
