Hello Qorax, qorax said:Small place compared to Toronto... u might have a cultural shock... otherwise a nice city... tad colder though. Best if u already fetched a job there (which isn't that difficult to grab).
Happy New Year 2 U 2!
Congrats... good post.priti1911 said:Landed at Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls) on December 28.
Immigration officer has asked for:
1) Bank statements for proof of funds
2) Address for PR application. I have provided my friend's address but he didn't accept it. He has given me the form and asked to fax the document when I have my own address.
3) Asked how many days I am planning to stay ( I told that I am going to stay here and search for the job)
4) Asked that whether I am planning to go to Calgary as I have mentioned in my application. I said yes.
He took my I-94 then directed me to Custom Officer for Goods to follow list. Custom Officer doesn't require any photos except if you have jewelry in Goods to follow list. Provide VIN Number if you planning to get the car from USA.
I returned back to USA after 3 days. US Officer asked me about my I-94. I said that it was taken by Canada officer without saying about my landing. Then they have issued a new I-94 with charging 6$ fee.

It was meant for the poster alone... b'coz s/he was intending to move from Toronto. In which case, given the size, diversity & multiculturalism of this place - Edmonton could've given the jitters, initially at least. And yes, I did mention that it was a nice place too, I've nothing against it.ASK said:Hello Qorax,
Wishing you a Very Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
I was reading about Edmonton, but never came across anything mentioned about the 'Cultural Shock' part. Could you please give one or two examples? Thanks for your time in advance.
Not required (I've mentioned that later, many times on this thread)bestpal said:Happy New Year to you Captain and everyone.
You had written 0n 14th March 2010 (following is the excerpt)
FORMS REQUIRED FOR THE 'LANDING':
Even if you stay ONLY for a day at Canada, you will need the following:
1. Passport with stamped Visa. -off course
2. COPR (IMM 5292B)
3. POF. [for cases "without" AEO & family class] (details below)
4. Passport size photos. -2 or 3 for PRC (may not be needed, but good to have)
5. PR Card Application (IMM 5444E). -carry it filled pre-printed, for ease
6. Goods to Follow List (Form B4 / B4A). -carry it filled pre-printed, for ease
7. Goods Accompanying List. -as above, a table of things u r carrying on person (value & Totaled)
My query is whether Sr # 5 is still prevalent and needed during our Landing purpose ?
Besides the above, have another doubt-- (2)if one of the parent (other than the P/A) lands later (than the P/A) the required form of consent to be signed and notarized etc is needed for all children or only those who are under 21? What is that form if you know the number, please?
Thanks for your very valuable inputs and advices.
Best Wishes,
Bestpal
Thanks very much, indeed, Captain Sahib. That was very useful! Salute to you for your promptness!qorax said:Not required (I've mentioned that later, many times on this thread)

With regards to my view, I think Calgary has much better opportunities....People are moving from east to west because of more jobs at Calgary.sherine1972 said:Dear Qorax,
