Hello

I am going to canada on PR on 24th of Jan. I have some questions with me like which goods i can carry with me and which i can't while landing to Canada for the first time. Goods like Pickles, flour, pulses, spices all food stuff. Can you please advice me if anyone had a problem while lending there with these food stuff. Can you please share your experience with me.

Thanks

Kunal.
Besides what Baloo already suggested in your thread - I hope u have watched "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" - Akshay 'lands'@Vancouver - I just watched it once again yesterday night - a nice movie - have a look@it, if u haven't already.

But, coming to the point: Bro, don't waste your space & time on fetching those goods. One, u'd get them all here as well; Two, learn to live w/out them (wisest move) -- that's why u r getting to Canada - else, what was wrong with "Mera Bharat Mahaan"? Learn to Change - Change to Learn !!!

You are so right, it is something that I always find confusing - why immigrate if all you want is the same.

100 % correct and its so true..dear Baloo and Qorax.

With all due respect , man has to change ( for betterment) with time , place and people. Decision to migrate to new place in itself is a Big Change.

No one is asking to change ones feeling towards his/her roots and likings but adapting to new situation is the Name of the Game and leads to faster success.

Apologies if someone thinks differently.

Please assist. I need to re-enter Canada by road through the US/Canada border and intend to do so next weekend - January 21, 2011 using my COPR, if I take a limosine services cross border does this constitute a private vehicle?

Also, if I choose to rent a car and drive into Canada would my international drivers license be accepted by the Canadian Border officers?

Thank you for your attention and urgent reply.

1) It'd be a 'rent-a-car' & u'd have no issues to enter Canada. But, ensure to carry the rental agreement, the car papers and u must have its 'insurance covering for Canada' as well.

2) Yes, the IDP/IDL will be 'acceptable', provided u haven't driven over 2 months in Canada earlier, on that. Also, u may use your US D/L.

As I understand there could be a problem. Why don't u check-it-up with CIC instead?

Immunization Form
http://www.chinacanada.ca/web/down/immunization.pdf

Hi all,

If anyone hasn't got the above form from the CHC while receiving their PRVs+COPR, and have kid/s under 16, plz click the link above to download that form.

U'd need this form to be filled, signed & stamped by your doctor, from your homeland, before departure for landing. It's required for the kid's School Admission in Canada.

And that's a strictly enforced regulation here.
