Do they come with a nanny? If not, you're going to be paying me to be the nanny!!!! :P

No! Nanny stay's with me ;D she does not want to go with them anymore ;).

We are still looking for a place in NE - I like Taradale / Coral Springs with a lot of Asians and being close to LRT - my office is in downtown so can avail the Park n ride if Our relocation agent showed us a few in Southwest though we are interested in NE. She maintains that NE is not a safer neighbourhood. I am trying at my own to find something good for us. Do let us know if you see something. Spacious Main floor Condo / Apartment / house with heated / covered garage would be great. Do you know where is Aquib these days. It's been a while I have seen him posting on this thread and kinda missing his narratives.

I'm pretty sure popular brand Laptops and Cameras are auto volts. When I went on a vacation to my home country which uses 220 volts.
I brought My stuff bought here in Canada (Laptop and Dslr as well.) didn't have any problems. (They would have exploded because of higher voltage.) But they worked just fine.

So you should check the labels of your items or the manual.

If yours are only 110v, worse thing that can happen is that they won't work because the voltage here is too low.

You can either buy a transformer or call in an electrician to have a 220 outlet put into your house. (assuming you own the house or the landlord will let you.)

Goodluck!

Hi SW Calgary is big!lol It's hard to say without knowing what neighborhood you are living in.

The Good thing about Canada is usually they have strip malls or malls that have all of this within 3-5 mins. of driving.

Google maps is probably very helpful if you don't know your way around yet. It can give you driving directions or which buses or train to take if you need to use public transit.

Hello all,

I live in SW Calgary and i plan to do my landing at the Carway border this Saturday. Based on the information i have seen so far online, i don't know what physical address i should put in my GPS to get to the border.

I would appreciate if anyone can provide that information or if you can tell me how to get to the carway border using GPS from Calgary.

Thanks

1- Find Carway city in your GPS and go to the city. You would find directions to the border while you are in Carway.

2- Go to Google maps and search Carway Border Crossing. Then transfer that address to your GPS. Follow the following procedures to transfer address for Garmin GPS.

Friends,

I need your opinion on following query.

whether one should land for settlement in Alberta (Edmonton/Calgary) in April(Summer 2014) or in winter (Jan 2014)?

Thanks

If you think you can handle the cold doesn't really matter when.
But the summer would be better so you can get used to the weather and it's easy to go around without the snow.
Also trust me moving in the winter sucks. Btw. April is not really summer yet it's spring. Might still be a little cold and especially in Edmonton the snow has probably not melted yet. And there maybe some snow fall still. (Alberta weather for you.haha.) Calgary is a bit better for weather. because of our Chinooks (warm wind.) So Snow doesn't pile up or stay.

Goodluck!

another question.. :(... m using Samsung galaxy S3 3G enabled fone here in Malaysia.. I can use it in Pakistan as well without unlocking.. can i use this in Calgary or edmonton as someone told me that toronto i can use it but not in edmonton :( :( :(

Why did they say you can't use it in Edmonton?
I don't see a reason why not.

Although what do you mean without unlocking? If you wanna use Canadian phone carriers of course a phone has to be unlocked in order for their sim cards to work on your phone.
