We are taking crockery and cutlery too. Just pack crockery piece by piece tightly in the cloths. Make sure there is no loose space, means the hard items should have cloths in between and they cannot strike with other crockery item. Pack crockery+cloths in a "hard" suitecase/trolly bag not a flexible one, chances of breaking while shifting by crew is likely. Some experienced person suggested to put crockery in hand carry (only China Clay or Glass ones, no metal item), someone suggested hand carry are not weighed precisely? so you may carry a little more as well, we are thinking on this too. As far size on bag 162 or 62, let me check again. For hand carry I am sure of size but for Checked luggage stick to weight more than size. Get a Spring Balance or other means to weigh do not rely on usual Bath Room Scale, these are deceiving.
Good crockery is expensive here.
16 peice bone china dinner set (4 cup 4 bowl 4 big plate and 4 small plate ) we bought for 89 $ .
Cheapest avilable from 29$ .
Cutlary also approx 40$ for 4 set (20 pcs)
12 cooking Utensils set we bought from zellers closing sale for 199$ 12 pcs (which was otherwise priced $ 499.
)
Bed sheets. - best to bring from India/pak -Asia
But check bed size as here they are single ,Double , Queen and King .
King size bedsheet are very expensive here .
These are light weight item and could save u more then half price compare to u buy here .
Canada is unnecessary expensive even if compare to UK , EU and US.
Again do bring all medicen which you think u may need in near future.
If you even spend INR 5000 ($90) in medicen (few common antibiotics. Like amoxelin for adult and childern , Anti bacterial and anti fungal cream , pain killers like crocin , dependal , combiflame , itch gaurd ,
Multi vitamins , vit D ,family planning , etc etc. ) you will be better off .
Go and check with Dr there that what you can need in future.
If you get chance to use just 15% of those medicen thats also worth.
I just bought $ 30 Iron pills (150 pills for 3 month), $ 42 anti fungal cream (30 gm tube which is 20 rs in India) , $ 36 antibiotics suspansion amoxelin (100 ml which is 30 rs in India) for my daughter .
Parecatemol and Ibufrobin for 25$ (crocin and combiflame max for 100 rs in India)
Vitamen D drop for baby $ 30 (2 month dose ) , for daughter $18 and for us vit D tab $ 30 (150 vit D tab )
And these all when we are healthy family (iron pill recommended to wife after delivery. Fungal cream for me when i scratch my leg and got red scar and amoxelin when one day my daughter feeling little poly ). So no serious health problem.
