Hi Aquib

Hope you are okay.

I will be landing in Calgary in May 2013. I am flying from Manchester,UK . I don't have any friends or relatives in Calgary , so I have don't have any address to provide at the time of Landing . Can we provide the address later and complete the PR Card formalities at the airport ? is the UK bank statement ok for showing as POF ?

Please advise

Thanks

Tasnim

Although the weight limit is 23kg per luggage, some of the airlines such as Gulf Air, British airways allow up to 25kg free. I got 26kg once with BA. I requested the agent politely and she accepted my luggage without extra charge.

I am flying through Emirates and the information that I have are as follows. Checked Beggage max weight 23kg, height+width+length should max be 162 inches. Hand carry or Carry On (cabin luggage) is 7 kg and again height+width+length should max 44 inches.
Please check your airline to get accurate data. We all needed to be accurate because I purchased a suitecase which is oversized, I mean once I fill it with clothings it exceeds 23 kg limit. So do a little research to get maximum benefit of your allowed limit.
I hope this helps.

Harri I checked online it says 62 inches for baggage size...u hav wriiten max 162 inches? I am guessing its a typo error n u meant 62 inches too??

The Immigration Officer at the Airport or PoE will ask for an address where to send the PR Cards. Just say you currently have no residence yet then he/she will ask you to fax the address to their office when you get a place to stay or temporary address.

God Bless!

Yes, it's okay to use the friend's address. Your friend can mail you the PR card overseas. Not a problem. If they do require in person pick up, well, there's no way around that. Luckily, that doesn't happen often.

I think she is a sister... :D

Indeed I am. In fact, this thread is what inspired me to add "Sir" to my signature. :D

Salam Aquib

I am landing in Jun 13, with wife and two kids. Normally how to apply for Child Tax benefit and how much time it takes to get back. On average how much amount can we get for two kids with no initial income including provincial +fedral???

Is there any other benefit for new comers.

Well, we got AOR today for my application :P

Stage 1 approval usually comes the next day. (I'm Family Class.)

Woohoo!
