Landing Done, PR card not received yet. Can we travel to US and come back?

Hi,

We got our PR approved and we did landing on April 3rd 2017. We are yet to receive our PR card. Can we travel to US(we have valid US visitor visa) for a short vacation and enter Canada?

Any inputs would be helpful.

Yes you can but only through land and take the Landing doc with you. if you are flying then no. The airline will not let you board. CIC or CBSA will not be able to help you and seen a lot people got denied boarding and they have to flew to nearest canada border and then enter by land, then take the flight with in canada. I am 14 march 2017 still waiting for 1st PR Card.

if you fly, you would need to apply for a PR Travel Document to get back to canada without a pr card. they can take some time to get.

otherwise, as the other poster mentioned, you can simply drive across the border with your COPR and passport.
