Hi,

Currently am living in Toronto and Recently I received COPR and planning to land through Rainbow Bridge Niagara. I would like to know whether I can do flagpole in USA and do formalities while entering again into Canada.

1. I dont have United States or America Visa, just want to do Flagpole and get Adiministrative refusal.
2. Is it going to be a problem if am not having USA visa to enter US and do Flag pole. Please provide comments and suggestion.

thanks,

You do not need a US visa to flagpole as you are not entering the US. You just approach USCBP tell them you are flagpoling and they will give you a piece of paper to show an admin refusal which has no impact on any future US visa applications.

You return to the Canadian side with the refusal and tell CBSA you are flagpoling to complete your PR landing.

Note that CBSA will only accept flagpolers at the Ontario border on Tues, Weds and Thurs.

If you search the forum you will find plenty of posts about flagpoling.

I live in Toronto and I have recently finished my landing in Etobicoke office. In my opinion you dont need to go to the border. Following are the details of my landing experience :

Went to Etobicoke office (with no appointment) on April 26 around 3 PM. Security at reception has told me they are not accepting walk-ins after 2 PM especially for a family of more than 2. Suggested me to come next day before 2 PM

Next day (April 27) @ Etobicoke office : Reached around 11 am and the same security person at reception recognised me and gave me a token num
After waiting in the queue for 1 hr, my token number was called and finished the landing procedure in 15 mins

Doesn't hurt to try your luck

Hi soulrebelhere, thank you for sharing your experience. You said you went to the Etobicoke office without an appointment and I have decided to try it out as well. I was wondering if you could tell me what documents you brought with you? If photos were required, can you please provide the dimensions? Thanks so much for your help in advance :)

I did my landing procedure on friday. As per my conversation with the people at reception, lot of people are visiting without appointments and they are not sending anyone back depending on the queue times.

I took COPR, Passport, Print out of RFPR receipt, Two set of Photos. If Photos on your CoPR are recent (less than 6 months old), you can use the same photos for PR card. I took photos just in case needed but the officer didn't ask for any. Photos were standard size for PR (50x70)
