Actually the policy according to our Immigration Minister for BC Murray Coell who I talked to yesterday is as follows,Service Canada which has responsibility for Labour Market Opinions has been instructed to cut and slow down approvals to reduce the Number of TEMPORARY FORIEGN WORKERS,but Immigration levels will remain the same. But more selective thus the 38 expedited.Ironically What is happening in some cases,it is EASIER to immigrate then to become a worker.A korean who I assisted was DENIED her work permit renewal and LMO but was APPROVED to immigrate by BC PNP.Likewise An Iranian carpet restorer was denied his temporary work permit but APPROVED to immigrate to Canada under the AEO.Go figure
