Hello everyone,

It's with great joy, humility and admiration that I announce my entrance to this thread. I got to know about the thread accidentally 2 weeks ago and I've taken time to religiously read through every page, word by word. There is no way to describe the wealth of knowledge and information contained on this thread. Thanks to the landed seniors for sharing your experiences as well as those who are yet to land; one is more informed than ever before.

A little background: I applied to Manitoba PNP in April 2013, LOA October 2013 (revised to March 2014) and I'm currently putting together documents for CIO.

Cheers,

Ofis

Welcome aboard Ofis. This thread is mainly for those who have gotten the maple leaf (The Seniors are busy making way for those of us that are coming behind, so they just check in here in between their busy schedules, except for Madam Tinu who birthed this thread) . You may also visit the Nigeria Applicant let us network thread. You will find warmth and speedy answers there as well.

@Preferred, thanks for the info. I will surely check out the thread.

As for the seniors who's activities have gone cold over the past months, I'm quite sure that realities of life and work in Canada have set in which is limiting their availability to engage those who are yet to land. PMs are a sure way to reach them but nothing really compares to getting suggestions and feedback on the public forum.

Congrats Ofils, am sure the rest of the process would be faster from this point onward. As suggested please refer to the mother thread for most questions as this thread is less active and deals more with landing and settlement issues.

Which Airline did you book your flight with? Are you saying if I do the flight booking directly without passing through an agent it will not be cheaper than the IOM offer?

Regards!

gina.
Gina.
My airline is Lufthansa wit Air canada to take over at Frankfutt.
See. IOM issue only one-way ticket and you MUST be a holder of either US,Australian or Canadian Perm.Res.Visa. That is why it is cheap. Going sttaigjt to airline operators will be higher even if you ask for one way. IOM is used by UN to migrate victims of war-torn,economic melt-down,crisis and families elocating to somewhere permanently.

Can one make the choice of the airline & date of departure when booking with the IOM?

Thanks for usual understanding.

@Tinu. Greetings. Pls advice me on IMM5444 and its Supplementary form IMM5455 . Shld I fill both?.
Also, they ask of history of where one have lived/worked. Are they referring to already PR holders who lost/stolen PRC applicants?. Or shld I fill my Nigerian addresses there. I am a new PRC applicant. You know that same form is for Lost, Stolen and New PRC applicants.

Yes,you can make your choice of airline. How I did mine. I used Accra bcos I went there for a different mission and decided to kill two bird with one ...So I asked them to check flights for after having shown them my departure dates and city. They gave three sorts,I chose Lufthansa. They now asked me to pay cash. I ran to bank with a friend and withdrew the Ghanaian cedi eqv of USD they stated. Paid it and the itenary was printed out for me after many hours.
That's it.

kindly check your payment receipt under ticket number ( i mean on the invoice you were sent ) , its 2 bags. if you scroll below their baggage allowance (on their website) its 2bags

you are right 23kg x 2= 46kg
and one hand bag= may be 7kg or 8kg not too sure about that.

Safe landing bro..

Thanks Switchlanes. I will check the baggage Allowance. Been busy preparing for landing. My office has been choking me. But from your profile you are still in Naija. Are you flying Lufthansa also?
