@ u re welcome, how is job hunting in calgary. Pls how did u get a place immediately u landed and like how much did it cost. I do have a family of 3, hoping a one bedroom will do. Greeting to d family.Thks, awaiting ur humble reply.

My apologies once more for the Late, late response. About your question, I doubt if they will give you a place before your arrival. However, it's best for you to see a place before moving into it because there is alot of factors to consider; dampness (Basements), Neighborhood, house's environment, Transportation etc.. In Canada, you will need a vehicle if you have a family or if the kids are grown they can manage the public busy transit.
From my own experience, I attempted renting a place while I was in England but none of my attempts was successful. My family and I lived at a Hotel for 2 days before we finally found a place in Downtown Calgary. you can search these web pages to see if you will be lucky to find a place:
calgary <dot> kijiji <dot> ca, RentFaster <dot> ca

Thanks Bro B for sharing your experience. Please what type of apartment do you think will be suitable for a family of 5( husband/wife/ and three children under 12.

Again, what is the cost of rent for a three bedroom apartment with 2 baths

I am gradually thinking of settling in Calgary though my sister-in-law lives in Vancouver

Thank you

Other landed nigers who are in Calgary should please make an input.

Hi,
There are facilities at the Amsterdam Schipol airport (KLM) for what you have in mind. Additionally, you may go to yotel.com and check out cabin style hotel which you can use within the airport (schipol) if you have a long layover. It comes complete with shower, TV and bed, with a wake up call option at the time you wish to leave to walk to the boarding gate for your flight.
I don't believe this is available at Frankfurt (Lufthansa).
I hope this helps.
Cheers!

Thanks spokes for the information

It's best if you rent a 2-3 room apartment. They will not rent out less than that to 5 people. It doesn't matter if they are under 12. Just play around with this page>> http://www.rentfaster.ca/calgary.php search for what will suit you and I wish you the best.

Yes, EMO :)
There is a yotel in Heathrow and Gatwick; though I don't have first hand experience of their functionality.
Additionally, you may need a transit visa to access the facility at Heathrow, which is not the case for Schipol!
Just visit yotel.com and see!
Cheers!

I flew with Lufthansa and I did not rent or use any hotel or cabin. I had to wait for about 7hrs at Frankfurt airport. There are washrooms with toilet and bath if you want to freshen up. There are also baby rooms in case u need to feed and change a baby. The staff there are very very helpful and will direct you to wherever u need to go. There are some seats in particular corners that are like beds where you can stretch out and sleep. Save your money, you need it for Canada and believe me money goes fast here so spend wisely.

PS: if you want to eat at Frankfurt airport, you need some euros.
