CONGRATS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :) :) :)

thnks everybody!

day 1 - our landing went smoothly. came from manila by phil air lines. reported to the new immigrant section. given some forms - application for health insurance and child tax benefits, and a little orientation. waited for our turn with the immig offcer. there were a lot of new immigrants on that day, so it took us around an hour before being called. when it was our turn, gave the passports and copr to the very accomodating officer. she asked for our pictures cause the ones in copr have scratches. asked how much money we're bringin, if we have some meat or meat products. affixed our signatures on the copr, and that was that! it was a breeze except for the waiting! told to wait for the PR card in 2mos time

day 2 - went to the local school board to register the children. had lunch. went to service canada for our SIN. asked for our passports, given forms. it just took a very short time for our SIn to be processed. given a print out of the SIN, and been told to wait 2-3 weeks for the card. after a short rest, went to stanley park. yes! we had some fun already :)

ps: 2 days in canada (vncouver) and i can say it is beautiful and nice . . . :)

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

WOULD YOU PLEASE SHARE WITH US WHERE ARE YOU STAYING IN VANCOUVER

at prsent, we're still living with our aunt. we haven't started to look for our place yet, so i won't be of much help yet on that one. their place is near kingsway, just a few mins away from downtown

yup, staff are efficient, friendly. always smilin .. :)

Welcome to Canada Apache. I hope you will love it here as much as I do.

Imbubbles, I hope you stay out of Surrey. It is one place i would not want to. Yes, it is cheap to live there, but it is dangerous for me. I had a bad experience in Surrey and would never come back again. Be careful of the Surrey Skytrain Station. Welcome to Canada, soon. ;)
