LANDED in Vancouver - 25th Oct 2011

Hi All,
Landed safely in Vancouver on 25th Oct 2011 from Bangalore via British Airways.

Landing was smooth and finished in 30 mins though I got lucky in getting random pick for my luggage check .

Landed n went towards immigration section--> were about 6-8 ppl standing over there --> waited for my turn --> officer asked for my docs, gave copr, passport and declaration card-->officer asked random questions like have you ever been married, how many days you gonna stay etc..-->stamping done--->went to luggage pick-->here, got random pick to verify money that I brought even though i have job offer and luggage.

I was ready for all, so all checking's passed and came out. My frnd is ready to pick me up from outside airport.

26th - opened SIN, sent MSP via email (BC health insurance), opened bank account with BMO (encashed my tc's). Looked few places for apartment to live and went to find some info about driving license.

Tomorrow, all set for my work.

Jetlag? lol I slept like crazy in the flight. I Feel it normal. And yah I heard 5cm snow up there near local mountains. I'm looking for it becoz i like snow boarding .

kjsamir - It worked because I already have been here in vancouver for a year in 2008 and I got few contacts who know about my work.

Do you mean you got the job offer after you filed the FSW1 application? If so, did you inform the visa office about the job offer?

When you have job offer, it is not required to satisfy the Proof of Funds recommend by CIC to survive the initial difficult days before one gets a job.
But still Brad was randomly picked to show the POF even though he had job offer.
You're question is unrelated even though a valid and interesting one. Brad is the best to answer this question

Yah, I know POF is not required if I have Job. I applied for Jobs and got a job once I got my PR. I just carried enough funds for my convenience and declared in the CBSA card. So, officer checked things including my luggage.
