Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding the address where our PR cards will be forwarded. I have federal skill worker landing papers. Can I do my landing at Toronto and then provide them with a address in Montreal (Quebec)?
Do you think it can be problematic or delay the process?

Thank you for your respons!

Dear Rocky,

Can you pl suggest/ comment on banking jobs in edmonton area... I have also started a thread for bankers but as you also belong to noc 0111 can you pl give some views on banking sector job availability /qualif requirements...
Hey,

Toronto has banking jobs so as Edmonton but you need to be certified usually to get in that profile. Like in India you need AMFI to sell mutual funds you need certificate of Canadian Securities here. The job market is slow for finance people but still jobs are there. I will definitely be updating this Banking Sector query in detail soon.

Thanks for your feedback but what qualif are required for mortgage underwriting jobs as i am from mortgages background. Also i heard that banks generally pick up people at lower levels then move them up based on performance. Also the banks send their employees for further training and education. Pl guide on mortgage scenario also is a Accredited Mortgage Professional qualif required for banking jobs related to mortgages in canada.

Hi Senoirs,

Sorry was not in town, hence was not on forum. A few questions I have in mind:

- Immigration will be done at first POE or final destination? Since I am PNP applicant will be settling in winnipeg but will i have to do immigration at toronto as my I have a transit in toronto on my way to winnipeg?

- Do i need to declare my property in India which i intend to give it on rent while moving to Canada.

If there is anyone with job code 6241 or settling in Winnipeg please share ur experience.

Adi

Yah,

That is closely correct I would say that they prefer to higher non Canadian experience at lower level and the promote as per the parameters they have. The Canadian government will find your education which helps you to get into the job you want to get in. Like certifications and other short term courses. I will get you the exact source of this information soon.

You can get them evaluated here once you land in Canada as well. But it is important to get them evaluated.

You don't need detailed work experience certificates for getting a job. It might help but not always.

Rocky..Congrats on your landing!! Saw the write up on your expeirence and it was a great help indeed
&
Quorax..I have been learning quite a lot from you both.

I have resigned my current job inspite of many stopped me doing this by giving a negative picutre about Canada's life ... Cold Country, No proper Jobs, very far from home land :(.. But I see your writings to boost my confidence... serving notice period now.

Started working on my checklist.. 1st working on Proof of Funds:

Checked with Scotia bank locally whether I can show the deposited funds as the POF. They are not aware of Canadian norms. I feel having account opened is a better idea than carrying cash and drafts.. To my mind, Officers will not reject this, but my question how can we prove it practically as I can't withdraw cash immediately in the POE as we have to visit the branch to activate my canada account. Do you have any idea about this?

Checked the flights, Air India seems to be more cheaper than other vendors for Aug '10. Make my trip also gave good option.... do you advice to go direct to vendors or through yatra/make my trips?

I have many more to follow... and will be definitely taking your lot of time.

Thanks
