Lack evidence of relationship with sponsor

My husband (my sponsor) and I got to know each other on a dating website. we live in the same city. At the begining of the development of our relationship, I did not have the intention to immigrate and did not know the evidence should be kept. So now we do not have any chat records, phonebills etc.

After very short time, we live together and got married and had a baby. So we don't have any evidence of the development of our relationship. (Before we live together, we communicate through a mobile software, so we even do no't have phonebill as evidence.)

And we did not have any ceremony of engagement and marriage because I was pregnant and had very severe pregnant reaction.

The biggest evidence seems our son who is 1 year and a half old now. :)

What should I do when preparing the application document? Thanks!

Well, you have major evidence many of us do not have - you have a baby! Also, you should be able to prove that you are living together - joint lease or joint mortgage, joint finances, bills to the same address, or stuff like that.

What you can do is take some time to write about your relationship, in detail, showing your thought process, and how you felt each step of the way. What you wrote for this forum is the basics, just the bare bone facts. Take some time to remember everything that happened and write it out. Don't focus on what you don't have (you could mention you had no idea these things might be necessary later on), just focus on what you do have - and that is what You know about yourself, your spouse, your relationship and marriage.

Unfortunately, having a child doesn't seem to be overwhelming evidence of a genuine relationship to CIC.

I agree with Kayaker; you should each write a detailed narrative about your relationship, as well as focusing on what you can provide.

Good luck!

Thanks guys. Sorry reply so late becuase I have to take care of the baby.

I will write our story very concretely with details. Thanks.

I have a lot of photoes after the baby was born. My husband, the baby and I, and with grandparents, and other relatives. But before he was born, we really have almost no evidence. The telephone records is just about the past 6 months, but we have been living together for almost 2 years. But we do not have joint mortgage or bills.
We do have mails to the same address. This is the only thing can be proof.

Could you help me what other things can be proof that we are living together? Thanks.

If you are renting, perhaps you could get a letter from the landlord saying since when you and your husband have been living at this address.

But if you are married, you don't HAVE to prove that you are living together. Cohabitation is NOT a requirement for married couples.

I think, lots of family photos (since the baby was born, I guess) and detailed personal statements from both you and your husband would be good! Also, my husband and I had family members on both sides, and friends on both sides, basically anyone who has ever met our significant other, write a testimonial letter (not notarized, just contact details) saying since when they know us, what they think about us, etc. Letters from family and friends aren't a requirement, but we included them because we met and got married in a very short time.

This is true to an extent, but they would certainly like to see some evidence that the marriage was not just a "fake" marriage for immigration purposes. In most genuine marriages, both members of the couple would try to be together as much as possible according to their circumstances.

Letters from friends an relatives are not a bad idea, and I think it wouldn't hurt to get one or notarized if you think that your other evidence is especially weak. Even having anyone who was aware at the time that the relationship was developing would be helpful.

Thanks, guys, for your suggestion.

Kayaker, how long did you get married after you know each other ? We experienced a short time too. Ours is one year.

We met online (on a Facebook game) and began talking mid March 2014. Our first real life meeting was in June 2014, for a week. I came to Canada to come see him in July 2014, we were engaged a few weeks later then I left Canada. The next time we saw each other was in December 2014, when he came to Japan to marry he. I'd met his family and friends, but he'd only met one of my friends, and he met my parents the day he arrived in Japan.

So just like that, it sounds awfully short and sketchy, but we both wrote very detailed descriptions of our relationship and our future, and why everything happened this way, why we were ready for it, and what we saw in each other that made us trust each other.

I think your dates might be off. 2013? Your profile says you applied in February 2014, which would be one month before meeting each other. Unless you met through a psychic game?

Kayaker similar story with myself too. ..
We met online Feb 2013 and from there on it was and is constant daily communication. I flew to Thailand in July of 2013 and we both just knew it was right. I had met lots of her family and friends but not her parents as they are still in the Philippines. During this first initial visit we became engaged.

The next time I flew back to Thailand was April 2014 when we had our civil marriage along with her family and friends, My own parents could not attend due to medical concerns as was the same with her parents too.

I flew back again Oct 2014 for a visit..I just couldn't stay away, Plus CEM requested more documents and I brought those as well for that trip.

Now we are both waiting for her to get her COPR/visa and hoping we can fly both to Manila and meet there for April/May 2015 (fingers crossed). Where I will be meeting the rest of the family and possibly having a blessing done for our marriage with her parents present and of course fly back to Canada together. Our own relationship time line is quite short as well but its well documented.
