Hello, I am actually a new applicant from Waterloo. I heard the Kitchener office take forever to reply. I applied in January 2019 most of the other applicant from January received their AOR's but I have not yet. Is it normal for Kitchener applicant?

You get the AOR only when IRCC (the Sydney NS centre) sends the application to the local office. So they probably didn't send it yet. It also took me more than 2.5 months to get AOR, so unfortunately there's nothing else to do but wait...

That's very fast!! Mine was received on May 25, 2018. They sent me a correspondence for fingerprints.. had it done on November 28, sent it same day. I've called several times, the agents tell me that I passed the test each time. And that, If May 25, 2019 comes around and I still don't hear nothing, only then, I should call them back. The wait is killing me. Lol
Hi same here

  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 18, 2018.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on July 16, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on August 10, 2018.
  4. We sent you correspondence on October 26, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. (Fingerprint is done, received and passed)
No updates since then ....o_O....

Did you know that the UW was also being used for the oath?
I thought the IRCC was the only place in the region ...

Where did you get this UW one? It's not listed in Ceremony search for Kitchner

Under Waterloo - I believe the ceremonies are grouped by location, rather than processing office.

Potentially UW allows for a larger venue and to process more people in one ceremony, the test/ceremony venue in Kitchener is not terribly large and with everyone having a +1 it is no wonder there is a backlog.

Hello,

I have applied my citizenship since Feb 2018 but no test invite still.

I made ATIP request to both IRCC and CSIS and got my notes 2 days ago. IRCC notes showed that:

Security: Blank
Criminality: Passed
Immigration clearance (Residence, knowledge, etc): Not started

Last update on the file was in June, 2018.

CSIS sent the letter stating that security clearance still in progress.

I am so tired of this process. My PR took 4 years due to this security issue. I applied in 2011 and got it in 2015. I had a 4 hour long security interview with CSIS back in 2012. They cleared me after 4 months of the interview but IRCC kept sitting on my file until I filed mandamus, and that's when wheels started turning and they issued me the PR. Now, I am again going through the same mess. I am not quite sure why couldn't they clear my security like average people, since they already have done it extensively for my PR.

Is there anyone else who is facing the same dilemma? Any guess what's happening with my file?

I am originally the Kitchener applicant. I moved to Mississauga in Nov 2018 and updated my address with IRCC. However, even after the address update my file is still in Kitchener.

My timeline is:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 5, 2018.

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canadaon February 28, 2018.

3. We started processing your application on May 30, 2018.

Did you call them (IRCC / CIC) asking for a reason due to a lack of system update regarding your address? It may be a way for them to start paying attention to your process ...:)

I think I'm in a similar boat too. My PR was fine but the security clearance on the Citizenship has taken an year so far. I can't think of anything that I might've done to cause this delay :(

When did you apply? Did they invite you for the test so far? How about ATIP requests to CSIS and IRCC?

October 2017. No test. ATIP requests have Security on blank, everything else seems to be fine.

Haven't done a ATIP request to CSIS. May try that next, is it done the same way?
