Thank you. Still have to pass the pesky test thought!

After the change - benefited from both the lower year requirement and recognition of 1 year max of residence prior to PR. I don't even believe I would be eligible now under the old system.
Thanks for the reply. I’m under the new rule too. Your test invite gives us hope !

Hey guys. I submitted my app on Oct 13th 2017 and received IP in December since then I haven't heard back anything. I tried to call them, they sent the local office a message but nothing happened. The helpline said that it was out of their control since its pending checks by other 3rd parties.

However I think it's been so long. I paid for the application and met eligibility. IRCC should take responsibility and work with whatever 3rd party for an update or resolution. It's been an year and a half almost and no test yet, I don't know what to do. Does any have any suggestions?

I don’t have better suggestions except
for keeping calling them. It is just not right being processed for so long without giving you any good reason or updates.

I don’t know, anyone has any other ideas ?

What everyone says is to contact the MP and ask hi/her office to contact the IRCC on your behalf.

Hi All,

I would like to share my experience:

Yesterday, I had a bad experience in the interview.
I was fortunate to have done IELTS twice and obtained the original IELTS results from both exams.
My first result I did not use in the PR process or citizenship.:D

Even so, the IRCC website now says:
"If you did, you can submit your results as proof if the score is high enough.
Send a copy of your test results with your application, even if the results are expired.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/eligibility/language-proof/step-2.html
If you lost or need a copy of your results, contact the test provider. Don’t contact us."

1- IELTS doesn't provide 2 copies of the result.
2 - They modified last month the information in the page below and above.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=572&top=5
...It is specifying that is only for QUEBEC region now...
"We will accept tests that you previously submitted for immigration purposes to Quebec, including:...
<snip>
In some cases, you may send test results that you already sent to us or the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI). We’ll accept the test results that you sent with your application for:

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Quebec-selected Skilled Worker
"
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=572&top=5

3- It was mandatory to use/mail the original results in the PR process and was allowed us to use the copy of it in the citizenship process...:)
Apparently, it is now no longer possible to use the copy of the test used for the Permanent Resident process also for citizenship...
SINCE TODAY the local immigration agent said that it is MANDATORY to have an original proof of English language exam result during the interview.

In fact, if I did not have the second original IELTS result to show during the interview, the agent would not erase the note he was writing in my process as "an unmet requirement". :(
He told me that he was not worried about my proficiency that was good but they have to see an original paper.

IS NOT FAIR!!! in my opinion, since it was a possibility until last year when I applied my process to any province not only QUEBEC to use the copy of the result, if you have already used the original for the CEC.

4-Another requested topic was a proof that I was still currently working in my company.
Thanks to the great Lord that I was with my company badge, which I usually do not carry, since I work with the end customer's badge.
No one has said or written on any page of IRCC, so far as I know , that we should prove again that we are still working in the company which was informed in the process which was duly documented before.

Noticed four oath ceremonies have been added in the past two business days on 19/20 March - hopefully this helps clear the backlog for those who have passed the test and are waiting. Perhaps we will start seeing invitations for those shortly?

My friend and I sent our applications from Waterloo together on October 11 in separate envelopes. Both were received on October 13 at the same time. My friend got his AOR on Nov 14 and I got mine on Nov 23. My friend’s app’s status changed to ‘In Process’ on Nov 27, while mine still says ‘Application received’. I’m in the spreadsheet, but my friend is not as he is not on this forum. Here is his timeline, if someone would like to add him.

Hello, I am actually a new applicant from Waterloo. I heard the Kitchener office take forever to reply. I applied in January 2019 most of the other applicant from January received their AOR's but I have not yet. Is it normal for Kitchener applicant?
