"We sent you a notice on July 18, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on August 1, 2018 at 9:30 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment"

But you had to wait for two days ,before submission the application of your passport.you may double check with cic
Not required. I went the same day, got my application submitted. I put a travel date and I will be getting my passports today evening or tomorrow

Hi all i did my test in April 4th untill now IP
I called the call center always said everything fine we are in prohibition stage to verification every thing any idea what's going on
 
Finally. FINALLY, got my test invite. 8th Aug 9:30am. Haven't received an email/snail mail yet though. Just found out through ECAS. Hope that's alright.

I don't know how Kitchener decides to use snail mail or email but almost all my interactions with them was via email. Only the fingerprint request was via snail mail, presumably because it needed to be shown to the fingerprint collector.
