JoyVine, some applications take more than a year to process, so the medicals and police certificates have expired by the time the applicants are approved, so they are asked to re-do them.
"Medicals received" and "In process" are eCAS updates, from the electronic Client Application Status system.
NO application is "basically the same" as another, you need to keep that in mind. While they are all spousal applications, each applicant is unique, each relationship is unique and the evidence that supports each relationship is also unique and uniquely arranged by the applicants. Everyone's background is different, and will require different processing times for the various security and background checks to be completed.
