JoyVine, some applications take more than a year to process, so the medicals and police certificates have expired by the time the applicants are approved, so they are asked to re-do them.

"Medicals received" and "In process" are eCAS updates, from the electronic Client Application Status system.

NO application is "basically the same" as another, you need to keep that in mind. While they are all spousal applications, each applicant is unique, each relationship is unique and the evidence that supports each relationship is also unique and uniquely arranged by the applicants. Everyone's background is different, and will require different processing times for the various security and background checks to be completed.

Morning everyone, Just wanted to let you know that the interview went well and I was asked to do over medicals (daughter and myself) and police record. Anyone knows how long it takes after all of this has been completed.

It is so hot here.

The interview was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. I reached the embassy at 7:45 and there was a short line up. After i went inside I went to the reception office to find how if i should the join the line. The guy at the window said I should just sit and wait for my name to be called. I was so nervous the night before and also on my way to the embassy and it was even worse when I get there. It seems as have I had the runnings. Anyway they called my name and said I should go to window #4. When I went inside the IO must have realized that I was nervous, so she said that if I needed time to relax and that's ok. I wore heels but i took it off because I had to stand and my legs were shaking.
These are some of the questions that she asked me:

(1) Tell me about your relationship
(2) when and how did you met
(3) what did you and spouse do when you were dating
(4) what`s your spouse occupation and salary
(5) Where does your daughter lives and with whom
(6) Do you work
(7) why it took you so long to apply for PR. (I met spouse in 2004. I told her that I was waiting for my spouse divorce to come through and also for my daughter to do her medical and police record)

Then she said I can see that the marriage is genuine so I am going to approve you and that I should do over medical for my daughter and myself and also police record for myself.

I didnt waste time. The next day I went to get the police record. I paid for the express service and was told to return on June 1. I also got an appointment for next week to do my medical. I sent the redo medical document to my daughter in England which she should receive within 3 days. I told her to schedule the appointment before she receive the document so as soon as she it gets it she can go do the medical.

I hope this help those who will be schedule for an interview.

Congrats Sanchester and Iambless- that interview must have been nervewracking I am happy for you that it went well.
I am going to Toronto for the weekend with my best friend who is here from out west, I am looking for a weekend off and away from my apartment and my cat who sometimes I think I talk to too much- am worried I am slowly becoming a crazy cat lady LOL. I bought a dress yesterday for the sole purpose of meeting my husband a pearson one day. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
