TOgirl - I am responsible for updating the status of persons on the KG thread. Yes, Iambless has her interview tomorrow! I hope she landed OK, air traffic controllers are on strike here in Jamaica, there may have been some delays and issues at the airport. I'm sure she didn't need the added stress. Well, hopefully she rests off and is prepared for tomorrow!

The chances of your spouse being given a TRV with a PR in process are extremely small. Non-visa-exempt spouses are routinely denied TRVs, they are considered high risk for over-staying.

Please share a few details about your case, are you sponsoring a spouse with children, without children, some basic details. I promise we are not too fast, haha.

As I said, welcome aboard, please stick and stay. Ask questions if you have them, we are here for each other.

Of course i will share some details, finally a group i can relate too lol and get some answers! ???.........well i was married july 13 2009 and been with my husband since december 5th 2008. we met at a resort where he did security. this is just a single PR application, altho I have four children and the youngest one is his. he has taken on all with much love and support.

I know your wondering what took so long for me to apply lol so yeah, Well i was on social assistance :-[ and finally got a job and cut it off in january and i also started my own business. ;D

hey, how long is it taking for everyones applications to be approved? I seen some in your list saying 3,4 and 5 months. is that correct? howcome they went along faster?

You seem to have found a special one there, I know plenty Jamaican men who are not into taking on other men's children. Mind you, most of them have 2 or 3 of their own that they are not supporting or bringing up, and they wouldn't mind if some other man took them on!

Congratulations on getting a job and starting your own business! You must feel extra great to know that you have no more impediments to filing a sponsorship application for your husband, so your family can reunite! Good going there.

Applications currently are being finalized in 8-10 months. The ones who had the shorter timelines are exceptions, not the norm. It is best not to compare your timeline with someone else's, it can drive you crazy. Each case is unique and considered on its own merits, so sit back, relax and enjoy the wait with us.

Oh my goodness the suspence is killing me and i just filed today, the waiting game sucks but will be worth it in the end.

My friend filed in october and he got his visa last week, the application was approved and visa was issued in april.....so i hope because i've been in such a long relationship that it might go along a bit quicker, wishful thinking on my part.

LOL, you're welcome. Yes, as a newbie you won't be able to post links or get too many PMs for a while on this site.

October to April is 6 months or so, that sounds like what you hope a spousal sponsorship would take. Unfortunately, KG's timeline is increasing, so it's really important not to set yourself up by being too impatient at the beginning of the process. There is really no consistency to their standards, and each applicant's history and background can cause "delays" in the process.

The thing to do is to prepare for your husband's arrival in the meantime, and do all the things now you won't be able to when you're not a single parent anymore, LOL.
