now a couple of questions .

i know it has been asked before but its the tax and gst thing.

i always claimed as single on the advice of my accountant. now hes here ive never added or changed anythinghe had a job for a month dec2010-jan2011,which was not enough to collect unemployment. his new job just stared last week

what to do for this tax season??

Um. Not sure, lol. Perhaps he should file a return of his own for 2010, and you file as single as per normal, since you never had him on your previous returns? There is a tax section on these forums, perhaps they can help you over there, or maybe someone else can chime in with what they did.

My husband changed his status with Revenue Canada to married when he returned to Canada last year. For his 2010 return, his accountant requested that I send my certificate of pay and tax deducted that I received from my employer, along with my tax registration information here in Jamaica. Revenue Canada requested a copy of our marriage certificate as verification and that was it.

Morning for Forum Peeps!

I have a general questions: Does anyone know how long it usally takes for KGN to courier back a PP once they have received it in their office?

Morning ladyposh! As this is a new deal with KG to use courier service to return the PP, I doubt anyone can say for sure how long it will take them to turn it around. I know the US embassy returns PP via courier, they use DHL, and I got my PP with visa back from them after about a week and a half.

ladyposh: going off my experience with the TRV, they took 10 days for process and deliver, dont know if its the same with the PRV.

does anyone know if it is possible to ask someone to pick up your passport at the CHC. my hubby cannot make it today so he ask somesone to pick up his pp for him, he said they said he can ask someone all he have to do is send his ID or he can use dhl

reemagray - I believe that is the police/criminal record check, probably CSIS and anything else they can look up just to make sure there is no reason to deny your hubby's PR

sosad - didnt you say last week it was you who was supposed to pick up your passport but they cancelled your pick up?? I'm not sure you can send someone else to pick it up on your behalf, I've never heard of anyone else doing that before.
