And yes, Chelley, it is mid-term break for the Easter term, so students get the rest of the week off this week. Makes me wish I was still in school! Come next month, they get another week after Easter weekend, LOL. And then it's straight on until July, except one day off for Labour Day in May.

it makes much more sense when you call it a mid-term break lol (i was told it different.. that anytime there's a mid-week holiday they get the rest of the week off, sounds much better your way!)... kids get a week off in March here (march break), it's actually next week.... but only the Friday and Monday around Easter rather than the whole week... so it's about the same...

i remember easter break last year... we went took a road trip out to the east... Ochi over easter, then on to Portland and St Thomas the prettiest parts of the island IMO... i love the mountains

I hate to disappoint whoever told you that, but even back in the lackadaisical days when I was going to school we didn't get every single rest of the week off after a mid-week holiday! Given how many holidays we have in Jamaica, I'd say students would be out of school a lot with that reasoning!

I am dying to take hubby to Ochie. I also want to be there next time he ends up in Portland. He went with a friend one day while I was at work, he came back alone around 3:00 the next morning! I would go back to Portland any day, only been twice. St Thomas could drop off Jamaica and I wouldn't notice much less lament. Long family history is behind that opinion, I won't bore you with it now, LOL.

lol.. st thomas is pretty... only place i ever camped in jamaica (in a tent), way up by somewheres called sommerset (not the falls, but the speck of a town)... i think the place really won my heart when we went to bath... the water is HOT... having HOT HOT water after having NO water for it was about 4 months running at that point in time... i didn't want to leave!!!!!! other than that, i've always thought of st thomas as pure bush lol (i have a couple friends out there who hate it when i say that... but yallahs isn't really st thomas it's like kingston suburbia LOL

So my mother's side of family is from St.Thomas...I personally have not been up there since 1987!!!! All I know is its past Yallas River, Morant Bay and way up top near the Blue Mountain Peak in a place called Hagley's Gap!!!!

I can't wait to go home Guys....I am feeling down today and need something to pick up my spirits....I did at prelim for my taxes and it seems I am going to have to pay back....apparently I have made too much my money....I dont understand because mi poor....!!!lol

Chelley: Yes it is easier said than done when you are going through this process and yes we cant compare timelines. I just want to be reunited with my loved ones and as hard as it is having a long distance relationship (me being in BC) its a long travel time to and from Jamaica. I understand where you are coming from when you state the processing times and it is hard to see sometimes as there are so many emotions involved. I do hear you and thanks for the update on the process and it gives me a better understanding. As I know I am not alone and it goes day by day. Thank God, my work is busy and keeps me on my toes.

CharlieD10: that is awesome news that you met your hubby online. I love to hear stories from others when it comes to meeting etc. I always find it interesting listening to peoples love stories. I am happy its working out for you two.

Waiting 4 a Star: Thanks for the very useful information. I was talking to my hubby today and he didnt even know it was a holiday as he always mentions to me he doesnt pay no mind to that stuff. LOL Its so funny he lives in Jamaica doesnt know holidays now I can tell him from what you posted all the holidays in Jamaica. I can't wait to share it with him.



BrownSuga: 8 months to the day! that is great news. When do you think your hubby and step son will be joining you in Canada? I cant wait to hear your landing story. Its so exciting.

I hope all the PREGNANT LADIES are doing well. I am starting to get the BABY fever as well. I am not ready yet and I dont mind waiting until my husband is in Canada. I would prefer to have my huband near during my pregnancy....as im an emotional wreck already.

good Morning everyone

well today is another day, just hoping the good lord will answer some prayers today.

i think this whole waiting thing is sending me into depression. honestly, im so stressed.

raising two 14 year old by myself who thinks they know every thing and im "old school", is depressing by itself, i need my husband now man, as soon as he land in Canada he will take on his daddy job caz im gonna resign.

IO are so unfair, they dont care, they never indicated a problem with my hubby application so what is the hold up.

but im keeping the faith, God please hear my plea and answer my cry, we need at least two hubby on this site to get their ppr and visa today lord. God we beg of thee in Jesus name amen.

waiting-for-a-star: I couldn't agree more. It is so depressing and SO stressful! Just imagining how much easier it would be having your partner with you so you could be there for each other. Watching other happy families while yours is seperated by so much distance. :'(
I am so happy that I found this forum because watching people getting through and seeing that things are happening is the first piece of hope I've had since this process began. We just have to take it day by day and hope for some happy stories to lift our spirits today. Hang in there... this too shall pass.

Without this forum I wouldn't know what I would be doing. I find myself overjoyed when I read a family getting a pp call or visa. Its so enjoyable to read and know that everyone in this forum has an understanding of this process.

I have a joke: I dont want to offend anyone but here it goes:

A husbandand wife decided they needed to use "Code" to indicate that they wanted to have sex without letting thier children in on it
They decided on the word "Typewriter"

One day the husband told his five year old daughter " Go tell your mommy that daddy needs to type a letter".

The child told her mother what her dad said and her mom responded " Tell your daddy that he can't type a letter right now because there is a red ribbon in the typewriter"

The child went back to tell her father what mommy said.

A few days later the mom told the daughter, "Tell daddy that he can type his letter now."

The child told her father, who returned to her mother and announced, "Daddy said never mind with the typewriter, he already wrote the letter by hand."
