Thanks Eveyone, it does feel good. Hubby is loyal so he's going to give his 2 weeks notice, sell his car etc., before leaving. Just knowing that it's almost over is such a great feeling.
Waiting regarding your question, hubby went in for his interview on Feb 9th. on the same day he did his meds redo and in the same week he also did his police check again. On feb 28th he got the call to bring in his passport and on March 1st he brought them in and today he got the call to pick up tomorrow or thursday. And of course he will be picking them up tomorrow.

Kimore while you answer that, please tell me has it ever said meds received on ecas when he redo his stuff, as you can see my hubby did the same redo in the same week as yours, so I just want to know, man these IO turn me into one big little girl.

Ladyposh kingston start working on our file jan 2010. We submit to mississauga Nov. 2009, my hubby has 2 kids that's not my biological children so that could be the reason why it took this long, nothing was never missing on our file, we took the initiative to drop of original docs without them asking for them, he took his medicals in Nov. 2009 and they ran out Nov. 2010 so it cost us a bit to redo.

Waiting, ecas has never been updated, since our file has been in process, i used to be so obsessed checking all the time i stopped when i realized that i was getting upset all the time that nothing was ever updated there, and of course this forum really got me through some difficult times. thanks eveyone

Finally Kimore, Very happy for both you and hubby. Glad to hear that you got through since you have been waiting since 2009. We really need to close the 2009 chapter so we can move on to the 2010, 2011ers.

Big Congrats to you KIMORE! Long wait well worth it. One more question: When you filed did you file for his children to come to Canada as well? or only your husband?

I am so happy for you Kimore, this is the best news ever! What a great way to start the week off. I know there tends to be some long waiting periods for some of us who are in the process now...I only hope and pray that Kingston will get only faster not slower.

FYI: I was reading on the CIC website that Canada processed above the average country last year stating that they are processing immigration papers to assist with our economy.

Well, Tuesday is almost near, and I cant wait to hear some more good news from Kingston..

my countdown is on to visit hubby next week 8 days!!! we will have 10 days together. my lil step son is growing so fast that I can't wait to see him walk by himself. hubby & I even booked a few days in Negril for some alone time . As everyone is saying I'm sure lots of bam bam will happen LOL ;D.

my ecas status changed today :'(......meds received has been removed. I hear so much about the transfer to the new system so I'm not sure whether to be concerned or see this as a hopeful sign that maybe someone actually opened our file to start the process. We still don't get the AOR with hubby's file #. still using my info to access e-cas. I am taking more info to hubby to provide more proof of relationship but not sure how to provide to the embassy if no file #.

ps - not sure if any of you are aware but if you have a non-resident spouse and you have been providing funds to support them (and can prove through money transfer receipts....cash does not count) then you can claim them as a "spouse" and receive the deduction on your income tax. i was most happy to receive a sizable return this year instead of paying....hubby & I were so excited for this windfall in the midst of so many expenses LOL.

We are spending 3 weeks together, and going down to Negril for some family time, but this time we are staying at a hotel so we can have private time in the nights

Hubby has claimed me as his spouse on his tax return, I sent him my income and tax deducted certificate, along with proof of my tax registration numbers, and he took our marriage certificate to Revenue Canada so they know he is filing as married now. Haven't heard back if he is getting a refund yet though, but it would be nice 8)

About the tax return yes you can claim your hubby on your taxes as long as you can prove that you have provided funds for him. When I was in jamaica I went to the western union head office and I asked for a print out of all transactions from jan. 2010 to dec. 2010 btw this print out takes almost 2 weeks to get done (just giving a heads up if anyone needs one).... The only thing is that I believe there may be a minimum amount required to be able to claim them as a dependant because when I called revenue canada the guy asked me how much money I had given to him in 2010. The guy at revenue canada advised me to enter all 0 or 9 in the place where I have to enter hubby social insurance number.

Congrats Kimore!!!!

if you have children (for those ladies (or men, none that i know of in this group tho ) in canada doing their taxes while waiting out the immigration process, or with newly landed spouses), you can continue to claim your children as eligible dependents until your other half has been in Canada for a full calendar year... if at any point in 2010 you and your spouse were separated (involuntary separation counts for this credit), you are eligble to claim a eligible child under the old "equivilent to spouse" (now called eligible dependent i believe)

my hubby's income was well above the minimum threshold so this helped get me a return this year (not as nice as last year, but another respectable dent in the visa )

if you are doing taxes online, this is MUCH easier done thru uFile than turbotax, and the return difference was to the tune of nearly $2000CAD.... dislike the uFile interface, but if it's going to give me more money, i'll deal...
