I hear ya, but remembe governments as a whole are at best, huge, inefficient beasts with no real time accountability... Think about it, would you really care what sort of performance you exhibited now if your review wasn't for 4 years lol

If governments were run like even marginally successful businesses, we wouldn't see deficits... Government policy, practices and procedures does not and never will make business sense... When you have no competition your customers must essentially grin and bear it with whatever you decide to do... If it means replacing a system that was obsolete in the early 80s with one that was obsolete in the early 90s then so be it...

Then you add in the uniqueness that is jamaica to the mix... You must prepare yourself for this process to be one of your worst nightmares, but at least the end result, when it finally comes, is a dream come true... Hold the faith...

Oh and glo, we have still not made it states-side, or tried... Probably this summer... But he will need to get a visitors visa (best to do it in advance rather than show up, but I've heard of some having success at the border, though those were not Jamaican and you know how they love to hassle Jamaicans)... Bring lots of evidence of ties to Canada, I think it's 100US fee (could be wrong?) and hope for the best...

So I've been wondering a few things.... is it ok to call Jamaica and ask about your status etc? will they even answer your questions? also...I've noticed that in last year or so people's paperwork has been done start to finish in 6-9months. Does this mean they are processing faster? Up here in Canada they keep telling me to be patient and it will take around 15 months. :S Been 7 months so far and patience is not in great supply around this place My meds showed up and disappeared as well

It appears that I'm the only one waiting 13 months now since application filed. and 11months +since file transfer and started processing in Jamaica.

its not like I just go married, I was married 15 years ago have 14yrs with this man, so what does cic need to prove.

i think im going mad today caz I really need some BAM BAM RIGHT NOW, and all the stupid ecas can say is:
"we started processing ****** ******** file on April 12, 2010" thats all,

no disappearing or appearing meds receive or redo, no originals received nothing.

All those old IO need to resign like the TCHC ppl and let new people who have souls and knows what it is like to work these jobs.

I bet its some old lonely ppl who have no man or woman working there as IO, and they dont know what love is so they dont care.

I could go on and on but does this even help, even my prayers seems like God has something against me these last days, why is he not listening.

CHARMAINE I know what you mean girl. I've been married 8 years now, my hubby took his pp to them from Dec, 16. When I wasn't hearning from them, I got my MP involved, when they called Kingston they told them they were checking our marriage certificate to make sure it's authentic. Can you beleive that? After being married for so long with a 7 year old, they are checking for authenticity and the funny thing is they let people through so easily who marry for convenience and we who are genuine have to suffer!!! I so agree with you that the IO are people who don't have anyone to miss!!!!!

It is funny .. these days i can't wait for the weekend to be over and the work week to start because it means Kingston is working. lol. Life is too short to be spent wishing time away but if i could fast forward a few months..i'd do it in a heartbeat! :'(

Anyone else find weekends the hardest?

I agree with you lilmaya... I can't stand weekends... I love monday which I use to hate them before and when thursday comes I start to feel down.... but I know this will soon change as soon as my hubby gets here I will get back to hating mondays again lol

Lilmaya and LW I agree with you both about the weekends....I have come to really hate it them because I know that KGN is not working, not that the actually work during the regular week...lol, but at least we have a slight chance of hearing something from them. I hate being away from by hubby so much....sometimes he jokes and says " I hope when you are seeing me 24/7 you dont get tired of me" and I am like "never baby". lol....After going thru what we are all going thru I think we will all have a better appreciation for our marriages that other ppl wont't have. I mean when you have go thru what we are going thru and still have to prove and fight for our love ....come on if we dont cherish each other when we are finally together then sorry but the relationship is not true.

I am praying that KGN kicks ass this week since they really did not do too much last week.

Has anyone heard from Soanxious? She has not been on all week....I hope everything is ok.

GLO, I dolnt remember having to pay anything for my visitor visa into america. Not sure if its different for other countries, I couldnt imagine it is.

KC as you likely entered on your ppt, what you got was probably some sort of visitor record or something?, not sure, but when you apply for a US visa from Jamaica there is definitely a fee, just like there is to apply for a Canadian TRV... That same fee would apply regardless of where the applicant physically applied from... My husband had to pay the fee to apply for Canadian TRV when he applied from London...
