Hi Lonely, E-cas is very slow to update with anything. I got the Medicals recieved update 2 weeks after the Mrs got her visa so don't sweat over that. As Chelley says Caips will only be updated once the IO opens your file and is looking for more info. You may want to wait to see if your called for an interview as they will tell what 'red flags' the IO has. You can find a great explanation under the General Immigration forum for the codes. It is hard to be patient so just look forward to seeing hubby in 5 weeks and the time will be passable.

Chelley, isnt it crazy, I think there is a big difference between air travel and land travel.... when i travel by air to america i dont have to apply for a visa ? but when i travel by land I need to have a visa, I still have the visa stapled and stamped in my passport from when i went there, its a peice of paper - weird! Who knows what their reasoning is but whatever, i just comply when ever i go to america and just make sure i either have a visa before hand or go at an off time now.

Lonely... Did you send in original documents (marriage certificate, Jamaican birth certificate)? If not then you will probably be requested for them... Once you receive that request there's a decent chance that your file will be reviewed in 60 days... From there its just going to take how long it takes... I think after doc request the average is 3-4m, but don't quote me, some have been quicker, some much longer... if they do determine an interview is necessary it will be during that review... interviews dates are usually a month or two away from when they are requested to give you time to prepare...

If you sent in Originals ( I did this, so did nae), then you are correct the next contact will likely be either a ppt call or request for interview if they deemed necessary... The odd person has gotten by without request for originals ( I think they sent colored photocopies which may have just been passed off as originals), but the larger majority of those who sent photocopies were asked to produce the original docs (they also give you a chance at this time to submit any further relationship proof, it seems this request is just part of the templated letter they send)

Hi Chelley... thanks again for the info... we did send the info as they send us a letter that hubby received at the beggining of november... it will be almost 60 days in a few days... so I am guessing maybe a little longer wait because of holidays and maybe also because this was not included in the package when we first filed... Imma keep my fingers crossed... that maybe i hear something in the next month or two....

Lonely, we submitted colour copies of marriage and birth cert, the Mrs was asked to bring in the originals with her passport to verify the copies so we'll keep our fingers crossed it works this way for you as well
