mrslwsn - it was me that said to include it on your application. Nobody knows what they think in KG but it's best to declare it. They ask on the app if you have ever been denied entry to Canada and if not why. I think you just simply state he applied for a TRV to visit his grandparents but was denied and give the file number. They will know whether you declare it or not so it's best to be up front about it. My hubby applied for a TRV and was refused....we got married a few weeks later. I think it's pretty common to be refused, someone on here once told me it wasn't a big deal....most people do get refused. It won't be a surprise to them.

WOW!!! GLO I am SOOO happy for you!!!!!
I cannot wait for them to call my hubby.....since Tue of this week the Website states meds recvd and a Decison made and all now dem no call, but it look like hubby give them him house# as his cell is not working >:( >:( >:(

Glo that is awesome news! Congratulations! Praise the Lord! Cannot wait to hear about the airport reunion! :D

Good morning my forum family. It is great news to see our family growing, our patience is being rewarded at long last.
Mrs, you can try for a TRV but, as my lawyer told me, I would only be spinning my wheels. Snow balls chance in hell he added, but again, it's only $75 cdn and has no affect on your PR. We tried twice and ni interview either. It actually will help you as it shows proof of your wanting to be together. You will have to explain why you couldn't visit him in JA at that time though to be together. I believe they should issue our spouses a TRV for 2-3 years, let us demonstrate our marriages are geniune, then issue the PR to avoid the 1-2 year delay.
Only my view

I totally agree canuck!!!

I wanted my husband to visit before we got married to meet my friends and family, to see if he liked living here, to see how we would fare living together. He was of course turned down for the TRV. Mind you we did ask for a 2 month visit lol They cited every reason they could find to turn him down. No interview either. I think the only people they interview is the ones they are considering approving. My hubby said there were at least 30 people there when he went for his decision and only 1 got an interview and was approved. So there you go......

When I got my visa denial letter, I think there was only 3 reasons they didn't deny me for, one of them being fraudulent documents :P

I wanted to visit with my husband, just like he had done, live with him for a while, then come back to Jamaica and wrap things up. I even asked my job for a leave of absence because I am bonded to them until the end of the year, and they agreed to let me go, and come back and finish out my time. Nothing. No interview, nada. They never even contacted me to say they had denied it, I had to email them myself. Say what you will about the Americans...at least them tun yuh dung to yuh face ::)

Hubby and I discussed me trying for another TRV, but I told him point-blank I am not spending another $75 for nothing. I said we should save it up for the PR application, and just do it and get it done.

Congrats Glo....Great news! So happy for you and your family, it was long over due.......!! ;D ;D

Kenswife - In Ontario we got hubbies SIN card number (he can use the number until the card comes in the mail - comes on an official piece of paper with his info and sin number - something similar to temp. health card or drivers licence) 2 days after he landed, he could get the number the next day if he wanted, or same day even. All he needs to show is his passport for ID and his COPR (copy of perminent residence) which he will receive. They will ask a whole bunch of questions including parents name etc, and all he needs to do is provide a mailing address for the card. We received the card in less than 2 weeks. We went to City Hall downtown Toronto and the wait was about 10 min. Quick and Painless... that was hubbies first experience of how nice and polite and professional the workers were here... he was shocked at the service lol. I told him it isnt always like that :)

Welcome all the new forum joiners, good luck to you all... I hope you all have quick and as pain free cases as possible!

yes, @ nae nae I know they will kno about his trv denial, im just wondering if they will question why he never mentioned he has a girlfriend/fiancee in Canada on the TRV app, basically he only mentioned visiting his grandparents...if they question that, do we have to explain why etc etc?? He isnt going to apply for anymore anyways...My husband is not looking forward to coming here, he has basically made it quite clear he is only coming for me and the kids, and he also has this unusual way about him where he doesnt want to owe anybody anything so he was trying to do things on his own merit but i told him that is so hard wid dis system..Im feeling stress already right now and i havent even started.

weird. i got my visa approved without an interview. i used the drop box option. (you get a response in 5 days time) instead of waiting around the same day to get a response/interview. i dont know if that improved my chances or what. my first visa was issued 'to see my boyfriend' and got 6 months. This was in Trinidad though. Maybe you can try the drop box option if there is on in jamaica.

I did use the dropbox, Honeybird. Or, that is to say, hubby did, because he is the one that took my application in for me.
