@ meljam wen I did my medical DEC 2014 it stated I was pregnant but I'm still waiting as the rest of us...no fast track for me...maybe I was just not one of the lucky ones. Sigh. Now I have additional waiting time to add the baby to the filing.

Lol thank you! It's a lot of stress tho not knowing if he will be here in time for the baby's birth!

Lol KIN always says they will notify us when they move to the next stage. They have never done that for me ever.
They didnt care when I was pregnant, didnt care when our new born was having his first or 2nd life saving surgery. No fast track for me either. I think its great that they have changed us to "in progress" for now but none of us really knows what it means yet since thousands of us worldwide got IP recently. I was talking about it with my hubby and said they only did that now so they cant issue refunds. They must not want to lose all that money lol (Once its in progress you cant get refund)
Some people have gotten in progress status after only a month. Thats crazy! Im on month 8 now I think?

My Ecas has not changed, still application received and medicals. However, I did msg my MP who contacted KNG VO who told me that my file is waiting for a VO to review it! Im done with the initial review...thank God. My application is just sitting on someone's desk...hopefully they pick it up this week!! Im going into 7months soon... and I sent everything upfront....Well there is a God, so there is a way! High hopes ladies and gents! :) ;D :D 8) 8)

That sounds like great news! Hopefully your husband will get PPR soon! When you emailed Kingston how long did it take to receive a response? I emailed Thursday so I'm just curious how long they generally take. Thanks!
..... I have emailed Kingston several times and I got a reply within 5 days but I've been told I'm lucky because they don't usually reply ... Also I had my husband fill out a the form to include in our package that gave them permission to correspond with me regarding his file ... You can order the CAIPs notes on your file and know exactly where you are in the process ..it's $5 to do it but again you need hubby to fill out a form allowing them to give you the information because the information is protected under the privacy act ..you can't rely on ECAS because they don't always update it..I do know though after I contacted my local MP I received a letter like this from Kingston ::
We have received all the required relationship documents with the file and your spouse’s application is currently awaiting review by a visa officer.

At this point there is no action required on your part, you are not required to submit any additional relationship documents. Please be assured that as soon as the review is complete, the next steps in the processing of this application will be determined and you will be advised accordingly. For detailed processing times for applications in Kingston,

A request for extension of your spouse and non-accompanying dependant’s medical validity has been granted. The results are valid until 4 August 2016.

Our office will advise your spouse if a new police certificate is required.

The application is now queued for review. Once the review has taken place, if any further documentation or information is required before a decision can be made on the application, our office will contact the applicants directly. Until the review has been completed, we will not be able to provide any further information. Please wait to be contacted by our office.

Hi
If the Police check is expired they will request it for sure. It needs to be valid and it cant be extended. And this is not 12 months it is 9 months... (well last year) But the meds can be extended as long as all the files is in good order soooo even they told u to not sending anything b4 they request something (cause they always say that) I suggest to you to redo the Police check. That's what my husband did and the meds has been extended and PPR 2 weeks after they extended meds.
. They extended my husbands medical also and they told me not to redo the police check unless they asked ...it's good until October 2016...and the police check is still valid until October 2015...my ECAS just changed a couple weeks ago to in process so hopefully it's anytime now ...

Yes lets all cross fingers for good things to happen. Im just not fully excited about it yet. I've been in queue for months. They told me in April I was in queue for review. Then processing queue. Its hard to believe this will ever be finished but praying for my hubby and everyone else here that we get thru soon

Ya I think they send out the same messages to everyone as standard replies because I also was told Feb 20/15 that my application has been reviewed and is in a quere for review , then again in March, may , June and then the most recent email that I posted a couple ago .. It makes no sense how there able to process TRV visas and work visas within 30 days but this process makes no sense.. Hopefully soon though it gets expensive travelling back every 6-8 weeks ...

Hi everyone...
After reading this I had my husband check his police record and sure enough, it has expired. Medicals will be expiring in Sept as well.
I'm thinking of having him redo his police record but was wondering how do you extend medicals?

Them who were pregnant went throught the process in 8 or 9 months instead of 12 or 15 months (those applied from april 2014 to june 2014) . But now since December 2014, I realised that the delays are less than before. People got throught the process in less than 10 months and since June, the process slow down again since it is summer...so this is only statistic, nobody can know what will happen.

Im not sure exactly how they picked who goes to POS but i know POS was picking up files for them when they were backlogged

When you sent in the new police record, make sure you keep a copy and scan this so you can email Kgn, attach the copy and they will match the new pc with your file and in the same email, ask them to extend the meds and mention the date who it will expire. In the back of the PC write the UCI number.

Here the details about extended meds.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

But this will work, and I repeat, if your file is in good order, that means, NOTHING MISSING or EXPIRED....so you should make him redo the PC and send it in.

Thanks Mel, I emailed Kingston last night as well, I didn't even get a confirmation of receipt for that email, my application still says "application received".

This whole process is gut wretching :(
