Welcome to the forum Mika, Have you or your partner had any luck in receiving Correspondences from Kgn, after your Sponsorship Approval?

The wait is hard but keep hanging in there, it can only go on for so long.

A few people on here have been getting updates, so thats good news for the rest of us too. This means they are working at freeing up some slots ;D

Just hold the faith Hun

welcome Mika.

Jamaica may not accept same sex couples but i dont think you have a lot to worry about because u are dealing with the canadian embassy. i wish u a speedy process.

are you same-sex males or females?

Happy thanksgiving to you all!

I have a question for you guys. Did anyone of you received a call to have the meds redo? Hubby call me not to long ago to tell me that KG asked him to go back to Mobay to have his meds redo and apparently they gave him until wednesday. I find that sooo weird as today his a legal holiday, as they gave him 2 days to do so. Do you guys have a number I can call tomorrow, cause everytime I tried calling, they just send me in the automated system ...

sounds weird to me too Yardie, especially since when they request meds redos they send you the forms to take to the doc. hmmmm, i dont know....

Yardie just press 0 (926 1500, thats the number canadian citizens should call) and u will get someone at the embassy to talk to, however i know that they will not answer specific questions about files. but u could probably generalize and ask the embassy would call someone to have meds re-done... hmmmm weird indeed...

Thats what I'll do first thing tomorrow morning. Hubby was sooo disapointed when I'll told him that I find it weird cause it's a legal holiday and they are not working. He reach that point where he wants me to move in JA and forget about Canada.

oh, he didnt know it was a holiday, well someone must be playing a prank with him. but just call the embassy tomoro and find out, or send them an email tonight so they see it first thing in the morning, hopefully they will respond.

Yardie If the call was received today, then indeed it is a strange Occurrence, since today is a Canadian Holiday, and Canadians working abroad would observe it also.

However if the call was not received today, then you probably still need to find out why he needs a redo if the meds are not yet expired.
As Anxsious said you may want to call to be sure in any case.

There may just be a little misunderstanding or crossed wires somewhere.

In that case, he shouldn't have a problem getting it. It's just a matter of waiting and the IO handling the case. Just do like me and pray and begggg god to have a nice, decent IO handling your case. It took me 13 months after application filed to get an interview and I am guessing another 2-3 months to get this all sorted out. I should be hearing from CIC regarding my ARC very soon. I have already done my Meds redo and so on.

Just make sure that if they call him for an interview, which in 99% chances they will, he knows everything you supplied in your application like studying for a friggen life threatening exam. I will not be able to stress how important this part is for you.

At my interview, the IO was very straight up and said that he is not there to beat around the bush. He is rather there to get somethings clear and sorted out because my application through his eyes was: Lived in Canada, filed refugee which failed, then PRRA which failed, got deportation order from CBSA to leave Canada, Supreme Court granted stay, I then got married to my partner, second trial of the case through the Supreme Court was rejected and so I got deported back to GEO. His major concern was to question if our relationship was real or put in for convenience. SO, he asked me questions (about 10-12) relating to the information we put in our application. They were questions that came to his mind as he was going through the application. Example:

1. How did you and your spouse X meet
2. How much does your spouse make a year
3. How about your family, what is the situation with them (they don't know about my marriage cuz it's a same-sex marriage)
4. Does your spouse still agree with all the conditions of the sponsorship
5. Where does X work and what does he do
6. Have you had any serious relationships prior to your spouse
7. Has X ever talked to you about any previous relationships

The questions can vary and drag on but I think it depends on how well you answer the first few questions with consistency, some level of accuracy and of course, honesty.

In the end, the IO told me that he had no problems with my application and he is going to approve it. Just be sure to grill your hubby on everything about you, even if there were kids or a past relationship involved.

I hope this helps and can put you at a lot of ease. Just be patient and don't get too worked up by the process like we all do/did. I know it's a joke for me to tell you not to but trust me hun, it works out well in the end.

Bye for now :D
thnx for all the info those were some very helpful insight my biggest concern is that we got married tthe day before he left but that's because we made a vow to get married this year and if all this didn't happen we were gonna go down to get married this december but we had to move up the date cuz all this happened.but other than that our relatioship could not be doubted we have kids together [biological] and have been living together for five years ome good now plus this is my third time filing for him so i hope everything works out well for us and i hope we both get some good news soon considering our timelines are close togetherexcept you're port of spain and kingston so anyways thanx alot and we'll keep each other posted on our updates
