I can totally understand. I've been with my hubby for 6 years, married for 5. we have 2 children together (and i have 3 from previous marriage). Its tough, frustrating, expensive.... I cant wait for it to be over with. But as Meljam says, they have seemed to be working faster lately, which is great. Hopefully sometime this year it will happen!
we have no children together but he raised all my 4 kids from my previous marriage and 1 that has a disability which is frustrating we got together when my youngest was 5 months and my oldest was 6... now my youngest is 8 years old and my oldest is almost 14... they are suffering too... I feel your pain... I wish they didn't seperate families... but my situation is different my husband is on an exclusion order hes going on 4 months of serving his exclusion order...

I dont think the outstanding school loan will be a problem. Her mother can write a letter saying you will be living with her, thats ok.

Chucky44,

Don't worry about the school loan!

I would get the mom to write a letter stating more than just that you will be living with her for awhile. My parents wrote a letter about how they got to know my husband and when they met him at the wedding and how they believed our relationship to be genuine and enduring. I had a few letters actually from my family, friends and his family too.

I just started my immigration journey 2.5 months ago...and I'm already losing hope urgh after being together 8 years and him being taken away from the family and having too wait a possible 2 years I definatley need some hope... and being 2.5 months and nothing from immigration I'm just frustrated

Keep strong Suzanne! I am sure that you will hear something very soon! It has been two years and four months since by husband has been in Canada. He returned before his visitor visa expired in January 2013 when we were dating. It was April 2014 when we got married. This coming week will be our one year anniversary. I never imagined that we would have to spend our first one apart. My hope and faith is in the fact that we will spend every next one together forever.

The waiting can be a lot of pressure and we just keep going to work and living our lives apart. Until my husband got his call for his passport a couple of weeks ago, I did not even realize how much weight had been on my shoulders. And now it is whole new set of feelings.... when is he going to come? What will it be like for him? All the things I need to get done? Did they really want the passport to put a visa in it or is something wrong? Did the passport actually get to the embassy? I try not to think about it too much but sometimes I lie in bed awake wondering if everything will just go smoothly for the rest of our journey.

I tried to explain to my husband last night that I will not be able to relax 100% until he is on Canadian soil. Then I will probably just cry tears of joy for a few weeks !!

You have made it this far and you will make it till he reaches! Keep busy, spend time with friends and family, try your best to take your mind of it all when you can!

I had a close friend go through this process a couple years ago. I used to be so sympathetic to your journey and supportive. I realize now that she is there for me, no one can really known what you are going through unless you have been through this process yourself. Sometimes when other people ask me I can't even find the words to explain it. I thought I knew all the emotions one could experience, but I believe now there are a few that I still need to figure out during this sponsorship process.

Sending all of you out there waiting for your loves ones to join you Canada or waiting in Jamaica to come up to Canada... nothing but positive love and light. It may be a struggle, but I had said since day one it is just a matter of time and if we can survive this we will become stronger together as husband and wife.

hey there, I have no clue why Pos kept my PP flr 2 months. I figure its just the process and we applied from guyana and file was transferred to POS. I used fedex. After POS had the passport live forever and we were getting frustrated we reached out to our MP and she said the lobgest they can keep it for is 12 weeks. Hope this info is helpful

Thanks so much sunkissed it makes me feel good to know that people understand and comforting ... it's so hard too get through this alone... I hope you get too see your husband soon good luck :)

I got a couple questions
1- how do you pay your permeNant resident fee I never paid yet?
2- My husband has to change his address and phone # on his application how you do that ??
3- where do you send your updated police check when it's time???

Hello vancouverain,

There is a place on the police record check that needed to be signed and my husband did not see it. The Fedex location that my husband went to specifically said that it happens all the time so they always advise people about signing so they told him if he had come to them in the beginning all this could have been avoided. I wanted to avoid that whole signing up for an account so they gave my husband the info on how to go to the bank to get a bank draft so that he can pay for the waybill. I hope your process goes more smoothly than mine because my passport has been at POS since January 9th 2015 and it's just been a nightmare. The wait at the end is definitely worse especially when it is dragging out. I was following others on here who handed in their passports the same time and many has received their passports and their husbands are now in Canada and I'm still waiting. I want to report certain things but don't even know where to start.

Hi Jamesyboo,

Thanks for the reply, I had signed my PC, our lawyer actually reviewed our paper work.
But I did call and speak to the DHL Representative and she was so rude words cannot describe,
she was actually telling me if I do not like their service I can call and ask another company to
pick up my documents at POS, I advised her that her Rep missed informed me and lied, she said
her Rep. could have never done that, maybe I was not listening properly. This lady was getting on my
nerve but I had to hold the faith I still am expecting a document through them.

1) you can pay online, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp and follow the steps there
2) you can go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp to change your address
3) when you received your notification of SA, (email or letter) they should have sent you the address that is dealing with your case. It's either Kingston of POS. Do you know which one has your file?
