Chelley: hey girl I'm curios too about the licensce Processing etc. but it would seem like you have to start from scratch wether you have a driving Licensce in Jamaica or not. hopefully I understood that correctly. but if so do you think it may be better to just apply as not having any experience, and and possibly Skip paying the $30CAN To the Jamaica High Commision?

well if you start from scratch you need to hold the G1 for a year before doing the G1 test... then you get a G2 which you must hold for a year before doing a G2 test (times reduced if you complete a driving school course)... so no, it's absolutely not the same thing... we had his licence within a couple of weeks.. if you can't book in a centre where the wait times are shorter, your wait will be controlled by that of the centre and the driver will hold a G1 with all restrictions (needing a licenced driver and not driving on 400 series highways being the two big ones) for that duration...



we also got the letter in jamaica from the transport authority in new kingston... was free for us and reasonably quick/easy to get (by ja standards)... glad we got it in advance... sounds like a nightmare!

chantol - i don't know what that means, probably lcw or HF may know but it probably means it is on hold waiting for the documents they asked for?? click on it, it should take you to a new window where there may be an explanation? mine hasn't changed ... still says in process and when I click on in process it says they started processing hubby's file on Aug 4/10

btw godswife... that info is for Ontario applications... i'd check what the process is in your Manitoba since it might not be the same... we have graduated licencing here...

I think I'll go with the Idea to get the print out form Jamaica for free. Thanks Chelley you have a point there about checking Manitoba but I'll get it in advance since its free. P.s Hubby is moving to GT Once I land. he has a home there.

Question tho??? Dis your meds expire and thats why they requested new meds , or was there a issue with the DMP? What was the issue there?

no immigration news but good news from hubby - they have posted a list of people they are NOT keeping on at work and thank God for listening to our prayers!! hubby is NOT on it! whew!!! so he gets to keep his job for another 2 months, thank God for that!

Nae the house is friggen great ...I am finding all kinds of discoveries... We have our bedroon done and the kiddies rooms.. and the bathroon fixed up ..and everyhtinh else is pilled in boxed in the living room.. My next goal is going to get tthis living room done by the end of the day ...Food is not in the cuboards..but oh well ...I was gunna fry dumplins BUT to my surprise there is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO flour...Apparently ity dropped dung inna the drive way and no body told me ...lol ..hubby told me just a likkle while ago ...So mi bex cause all a wi love fry dumplins....but who dont ?? So i am going to start at this can of bulla beef and wonder when mi a guh get mi flour cau mi hungryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and waan fi nyaaaaam..;D ;D Hubby a fi guh put dung deh crayola markers dat him a use pan mi new house wals for shelve (mi a guh kill him) and go get that flour ....hahahahah sometimes i wonder if my husbands blonde??? lol or it a deh treeesss dat him a bun .... ;D ;D ;D Either way it friggen pink (but bebes yuh wont see it make mi show you ) lol watever i told him if he dare picks up a paint brush without asking me mi a guh box him (hahahah) one time i left the old house i come home to a pink kitchen mi nearly faint ....lawwwd..lol

its a beautiful home it truly is ...I am just so thankfull that we both have made it here ...Its so many blessings ..

lcw - glad you love the new house! sounds like you've made a lot of progress getting things sorted out....the kitchen is the worst! I moved 2 years ago and was lucky enough to have a few days to move in so I moved my kitchen stuff and had it all set up and put away 2 days before the move....that really helped! it's great if you have the extra few days before you move. Hey if I bring you some flour will you share some fried dumplins with me? lol it may take a few hours since I'm in the T.O. area lol

yes nae,,,, sureeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely i would share some....LOL....i made different plan about the food i am making cabbage and bulla beef and mi guh boil the dumplins...anyways still no friggen flour yet ...Kids are outside collecting ROCKS ...Hubby aint into that stuff to much ...but mi tell him fi guh sidung becuase we are building a rock garden...and right in the miggle mi a put a little fountain ....But i dont know where the hell to buy one..oooh all in due time...

But we have a rec room ....and we are going to make it our Jam down room ....Rasta style ...lol hidden form view of course...lol...theres a likkle peak at the roof top and hubby wants to put a jamaican flag ...I am still thinking about it ...were in the burbs and a smack right inna the middle there us with the raggoe music blaring and a Flag on our roof top ...we aint going to stick out much are we??? lol
