Hi All,

I am new to this post. A little about us: We are a young couple in our 20s. Married April 2014 in Jamaica. I live in Canada and hubby lives in Jamaica. Hubby did his medicals and police check which I submitted with the sponsorship application on Nov 6th. I recently got a reply that our file was sent to Kingston, Jamaica. My biggest concern is the time it takes Jamaica to process the papers. Does it really take 27 months? Even when the medicals and police check was done in advance?

I go to Jamaica quite regularly to see him and I really hope we can finally be together for good. I am sure everyone is hoping for the same thing:)

HI and Welcome
I suggest you to look at the spreadsheet (LINK in my signature) you will have a great idea of the real processing time...if you have any questions, don't hesitate.
I will add you also to the spreadsheet...:)
Concerning medicals, they can extend it...is what happened to us...it has been done before (sept 2013) they extended it in november 2014 and now they still valids until november 2015 even my husband is here now.
The police check expired 9 months after it has been issued....he redid it a second time at 10 months. So it not causes any delay when they ready to call.

I have a question, this is for anyone who can answer.

I have a friend who got married after her permanent residency card was issue. Now she wants to take up her husband and kid which wasn't declare on the app as she came up as an adult student under her parents app. Can he still file for them.

urgent please

If she got married after and had the kid after, she should be good to sponsor them. The problem is if it happened before and she never declared them. But if I understand good what you said, she came here before the marriage and before she got pregnant right?

She had the kid after the marriage but the visa was issue about a month before they got married. To make myself clear -:

- was pregnant while the papers going through

- got married a month after the visa was issued eg got visa in Sept and got married in Oct

- Didn't declare anything to immigration

- But now like to file for them, they are still in Jamaica

- Talk to a lawyer in Canada, and he said it couldn't work - unless the situation wasn't explain properly to the lawyer like what I told you

Yea, the kid should have been declared the moment she got pregnant. And since the ``husband`` is the father of the kid, she can not say that she met him after.but wait...she sent a sponsorship application for them already? Because before to go to Jamaica, the file stay in Mississauga (for sponsorship approval)...so my question is, did she got approved for sponsorship?? If she got approved...I don't see any problem for the permanent residence. The problem is about the sponsorship.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Nothing was done yet, just wanted to know if she could file for him and the kid. They are both in Jamaica with the permanent resident card

If they were living together for more than a year (365 days) then she should have declared her husband when she got her visa and landed. If she didn't do that then she won't be able to file for her hubby. It's misrepresentation and she can lose her PR card. As for the child since they weren't born yet then it's okay as she would not have been able to declare them prior to landing. Now if they weren't living together for more than a year then she can file for her hubby.

Hey all ..... hope that pos return some more PP. Hubby is enjoying his next 14 days in Guyana before he makes the journey, will keep you guy posted on landing story. At least its up to us now and not POS

If I'm providing a job letter do I need to also provide my pay slips?

Mrning guys,

The pictures that I have apart of my application, do I need to explain who is in the picture, when it was taken and by whom?

You need to supply your option C print out from CRA. You need to call them to get it. You don't need to supply any pay stubs
