I did.. im pregnant and they denied my husband a visitors visa to see our daughters birth in February so I contacted my local Member of Parliament to look into it. They contacted Kingston and got our application opened. They requested the RPRF a couple days later and now it says in process. They didn't request anything else though.

Congrats on that news I have been dying to contact SOMEONE to get things moving, but my consultant keeps giving me the red light. He doesn't even advise me getting notes. I don't know if our case it special in that hubby is out of the country, but damn it, I want answers! LOL

I AM NOT SURPRISED to hear this. In Jamaica, to get things done on time, you have to pay off someone. Its sad. One of the things that I have heard is that the immigration officers are prejudiced towards canadian women who sponsor spouses from other countries. generally speaking, if a Canadian man sponsors , the process goes through faster than if a woman was the sponsor. Don't know how true it is, but i had a coworker that sponsored his wife and she came here in five months. another friend of mind sponsored his wife and and it was finalized 10 mths. maybe these are isolated cases but the system is just not fair either way.

5 months?! Lord put a hand on all of our applications! Its tough to be without a spouse...I haven't seen my husband since August, and was turned away at the border when I tried to go back in September...So I'm having to wait a good 6 months before I can see him again. I'm getting ready to move into a new place on Dec 1 and while I'm happy to be moving on my own again...it still wont be home until the hubby is here....I must say, I hold onto this forum like its my oxygen lol. You ladies and gentlemen are the only people who GET IT...You all have cried the same tears as me, have possibly faced depression, frustration and the list goes on. When one of you gets through I have tears of happiness because I know we have faced similar battles and I can feel that sense of relief. I can't wait until 2013, and 2014 get cleared out. love yall!

There is NO harm in ordering your notes. They have them there for a reason. lol ease don't listen to you consultant. Many of us have ordered notes and our spouses haven't been out of JA.

Thank you for encouraging words. Exactly what I feel right now...sometimes I wondering if I should talk abt it to my doctor because since I came back from JA in October I always feel to cry. Before I was used to be very strong and could manage. But right now...since Holidays coming up, I feel really down but stay positive still and hoping news early in 2015. Thanks again girl :-*
